Default THAT JOKE ISN'T FUNNY ANYMORE

    http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/news/s/119/119298_morrissey_comments_spark_bush_fire.html

"The story has been viewed nearly 500,000 times in just 24 hours."

This is not going away any time soon.

    We love you Morrissey.

You expressed the sentiments of millions of Americans, billions of people around the globe, and the majority of Muslims. You dared to say what so many privately think. And I am thankful for voices of dissent, for voices that look at America today and scream for change. I lived nearly 30 years in America and never felt a hint of racism until 9/11, the day the world changed forever. The day that life as a Muslim-American changed. Now, we are the Quarry. You can see it in their eyes at the airports, you can see it in the civil rights abuses of Ashcroft, Rumsfeld, The FBI, & The CIA. You can see it in the lies of Cowboy George W. You hear it in the conversations at the barber shop. It's such a difficult time to be an American. A part of you defends the honor of your nation and its people with zeal and a bigger part of you condemns the current regime and the atrocities it has committed and continues to commit.

Though I shed no tears for Ronald Reagan, he had a legitimate enemy in the USSR. I grew up during the Cold War and the fear of nuclear war was palpable. We were not Saints, neither were the Russians. Bush senior was perhaps worse than Reagan but harmless when compared to his son. After all, Saddam (formerly on the USA payroll) did attack Kuwait. The current President is a warmonger, an imbecile, a murderer, a liar, a self-proclaimed religious fanatic, a dangerous man; a man who will do anything to get reelected so as to not face the shame & humiliation his father undoubtedly felt by being a 1 term President.

We're speaking of a man who as Governor of Texas executed many many people, never or almost never staying their deaths even when the evidence upon which their convictions were premised was suspect.

Terrorism is a real threat. The actions of terrorists in Madrid, Spain, proved (if anyone had doubts after 9/11) that terrorists will attack without regard to higher principals, meaning they will not limit their attacks to their primary enemies, which for Muslims is: The USA, Israel, & The UK so long as Tony Blair is PM; enemies they can't fight fair & square for lack of real weapons of mass destruction: Israeli-made tanks, US fighter jets, British Bombs, etc.

While the threat of terror is real, I fail to see the connection between the events of 9/11 (done by Saudi & Egyptian nationals) and the war in Iraq. These connections were made by "intelligence" coming from the nations noted above, though no chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons were found, and anything found after a year had passed is suspect and more likely than not to have been planted by US operatives so that the President can say "see, I told you so." The reasons for going to war were fabricated and the ulterior motives remain a murky mystery to me. My hunch is that is was less about oil and more about installing another puppet government in a region that loathes America; a hatred which is justified because of American foreign policies and the near-blind support America has for Israel and its ill-treatment of Palestinians. And as to the fact that Saddam violated UN Resolutions, Israel has violated more than I can count but I don't see us bombing them, nor do I think we should.

I don't see any happy endings. None. America will continue to fight anyone it suspects of wrongdoing. Muslims will continue to die for what they believe in, namely the preservation of their religion, culture, language, and LAND. On the same day as the UN Security Council voted to hand some measure of their nation back to the Iraqi people, Iraqis set of a bomb that left 15 dead. Perhaps, the Iraqi people don't like the U.N. (America's) plan for their future. And no, it was not done by true Saddam loyalists, because they are all dead.

So then, the only END that I see is THE END that is written in Holy Books. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. And if that be the case, so be it. I'm not scared at all. I'm not convinced this Earth and the Human Race is worthy and capable of salvation. Slowly, we destroy this planet, seemingly oblivious to the fact that we live here and have nowhere else to go, so it should come as no shock that our own destines our foredoomed.

    It doesn't make me smile.

You mean those Muslims who would have Morrissey stoned to death
    for being gay?

The day Muslims mass murdered thousands of people.

Please give specific examples of how you've been a victim of
    anti-Muslim discrimination.

Strange that you, someone who has spent two years harassing people,
should suddenly feel victimized by a little extra security at an
airport. I think you're full of hype. I think you traveled to
the Manchester concert and back without incident. I think you
wanna pretend to be victimized. But you are the victimizer
around here. And you are full of shit.

Unfortunately you see a hell of a lot of Jews dying as a result of the Islamic religion, culture and language.

I think you're reading a bit too much into Morrissey's glib statement if you're taking it as a wholesale endorsement of the Islamic/Palestine cause. This is, after all, a culture completey intolerant of the rights of women, of homosexuals, and of free speech.

From the sensitive new-age guy who referred to someone as a "Morman Bitch" and obviously has a pretty neanderthal attitude to women in general. I remember all your bitter tirades about Chill/Mindy being fat.

All of which is quite interesting given what a slim, svelte superstud you are .

I don't think a non practicing Muslim who does not himself subscribe to an anywhere near wholesale endorsement of Islamic/Palestine cause is making one here.

Not completely ignorant of those rights.

Benzir Bhutto was the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Indira Gandhi of India.

How many US Presidents have been women? How many female Prime Ministers has Israel had?

Chill deserved everything she got and much much much more. She was obsessed with BG and threatened to go to the police on him, made threats, sent unwanted instant messages, scary emails, engaged in general harassment, stalking, saving of posts, screen capturing posts, tried to get him banned repeatedly, etc. Enough to piss anyone off. Read her posts, she is a bitch. Look at her photo, she is fat.

There's no wall around the country. You can move to one of those
wonderful Muslim countries if you like. Or maybe you're
waiting till America is done democratizing them?
