Default Franz Ferdinand and Glasgow's Sons and Daughters (no Moz)

Any Angelenos make it out to see FF tonight? It was a brilliant show. I rocked my little heart out. Anyway, they had two superb opening acts. Sadly, I missed half of the first one and their name escapes me, but the Sons and Daughters who hail from Glasgow were really something else. I'd be interested to know what anybody else who is familiar with the band thinks of them. I really liked the two singers. The guy singer/guitarist reminded me of Ian Curtis, although his voice (and this is weird, I admit) reminded me of the dude who sang that "Mexican Radio" song. The girl singer was spunky and dissed Ronald Reagan. She changed the name of their song "Hunt" to "Cunt" and dedicated it to Ronald, saying she hoped he burns in hell.

So all in all, it was a great night and Scotland continues to amaze me by producing fantastic band after fantastic band.

Anyone going to be at the Wiltern tomorrow night?

I know you are a student like me, and not a rich one like me. So how do you get all this $$$ for shows and new CDs? You seem to go to many shows and to always be adding to your record collection.

So, the lady who marred Arab Strap's "Philophobia" with her godawful vocal, dissed Ronald Reagan in a particularly vile manner. Thanks Mindy, now I have a more legitimate reason for detesting this person.

There's an interview with FF in today's Scotland On Sunday paper, M. It's in the Spectrum section if you wanna check it out.

Not that it's any of your business, but during the school year, I don't spend a lot of money on anything. I'm a homebody and rarely go out. I'm not a clotheshorse like most college girls. I also don't drink, so that saves me tons of money. I don't have a lot of extra frivolous expenses. I also work to earn a bit of pocket money. Furthermore I usually only buy used cds and I've been to less than a dozen shows in my entire life, so it's not like I spent tons of money on shows and cds anyway.

While I might hold the Arab Strap thing against her if I'd heard it for myself, I despise Ronald Reagan and have zero problem with speaking ill of the dead. So I cheered as most people did. There were a few boos, which honestly seemed to shock her. So she apologized for hurting anybody's feelings.
