    Default Moz & BNP

I heard that Morrissey was in one of the Sunday newspapers saying that he supported the BNP & said that they would be the best thing to happen to Britain as Tories & Labour are hopeless with their immigration policies.

Does anyone have a copy of this paper?. I tried searching on thwe web but some newspapers charge for back issues!

    Thanks.

    Default I doubt it...

but it could explain his love of Brigitte Bardot.

(Beautiful lady on the outside with a beautiful voice, but her love of animals does not make up for her sick politics.)

A bit off subject but i got a flyer posted through my door from the BNP today. i cannot believe anyone would vote for them, even if you take away the racist policies. No facts, no figures. In the whole thing they just blame asylum seekers for every 'problem' in Britain, and they also claim to be 'the peoples voice', which i find quite strange as they, thankfully, dont get many votes.

If anyone cares, im voting socialist.

Interesting as if you watch the video of 'We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful' you see Morrissey standing next to 'BNP' writtien on a wall!

He was in the Guardian last month mentioning the BNP saying that it's terrible that they are gagged in this country since as supposed to be freedom of speech in the UK regardless of who you are.

I saw him in Bradford in 2002 and he made comments about the changing culture & kebab shops and he didn't appear to be very pleased what it was turning into.

Well if I remember correct he did that comment about BNP and freedom of speech around the time of Vauxhall and I. Come on, Moz is probably playing at a gig against racism very soon, after all the past accusations he's not so mad to do it all again.

I would be VERY surprised if he does this gig against racism as playlouder.com says 'F**K The BNP' & Moz appears to be a very nationalistic person. Maybe he feels people should let the BNP speak what they want...after all the Muslim extremists in this country spout vile hatred against white British people and yet we don't arrest and deport them, whereas if we were in their country we would be beaten & tortured. This country is VERY soft.

Look at the NME piece I have posted and don't be surprised. Morrissey may be nostalgic but he's not a fascist.

Like Moz I'm traditionally on the left, but I find this issue really tests me. I can put forward lots of cool things and good arguments in favour of or defending multiculturalism and immigration but at the same time I can see lots of cons, problems, issues and dangers, from experience and not just from reading newspapers. This is a subject I could go on about at length. Muslim Fundamentalists who hate European culture and seek to impose their scary racist, mysogynist and homophobic claptrap on us deserve everything they get. They should be stripped of their citizenship, jailed if they preach hatred (eg against Jewish people, which they seem to be awfully keen to scrapegoat for everything) and/ or deported. Tolerance is wasted on the intolerant. And yes Britain and other civilized countries judicial systems are not fully calibrated to deal with these assholes.

Concurred 100%. The BNP is a tad too extreme for my tastes, but when I look at the immigration policies of Labour and Tories, yikes... I might take the BNP over those two and accept that they take things a little too far. I find it fascinating that the Left preaches multiculturalism, and yet by allowing Britain to be overrun by 3rd world immigrants, you are essentially dooming white Britain to extinction since their birthrates are so much lower.

If you think about it, there's only 5 Anglo-Saxon counties in the entire world out of what, 250+? (Not counting tiny pacific islands). The U.S. is well on this track as well. Take away Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and all of a sudden you have no more Anglo nations left. So much for "diversity" -- you've just pushed a culture into extinction!

I am not racist, but instead I encourage the preservation of EACH culture. I want Thailand to be Thai, I want Spain to be Spanish, I want India to be Indian. When I go to France, I want to see FRENCH people, not muslims or hispanics. When i go to Mexico, i want to see MEXICAN people, not whites or asians. And so thusly, yes, when I am in the U.S. or Britain, I want to see mostly WHITE people. But not because I am white and am a white supremacist who hates all other races, but rather because i want EACH country to retain its national culture and identity.

I think Moz feels similarly, as can be seen in his romantic notions of "Old England" And I fully support him and the BNP on this count. I don't want to see England overrun with non-whites, out of principal. No Middle Eastern or Asian country would accept that one bit, so why should America or England?

Well, you answered it. Because tolerant societies are "soft", and yep -- tolerance is wasted on the intolerant. Very, very disheartening. Probably explains why I'm casting a write-in vote for the anti-immigration Patrick Buchanan in the U.S. '04 election, even tho he's not even running. Bush and Kerry are jokes - even Moz can agree to that one :-)

you say 'why should america be run be 'over-run' by non-whites?' - or words to that effect, implying that it's always been populated by majority whites? Since when? Since not very long ago, historically. And the English were invaded by the French in 1066, before that we were Danish....

Valid point. But, the United States is not very old either -- the LAND has existed long before the 1600s (populated sparsely by loose tribes of Native Americans), but the *country* the United States of America has always been a white majority, and Anglo in the initial going. If you look from 1776 onward, it is whites who have written the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, set up our legal system, our values of freedom and pursuit of happiness, etc. Nearly every single president has been a WASP (Kennedy excepted, and even then he's a white Catholic). Nearly every single congressman has been white up until the 1960s, so that means all the laws that regulate our country were written by whites. If you're talking about the United States of America as we know it, it is a singularly Anglo-based nation. There is a reason we call England the "Motherland."

England is of course not "pure", I wasn't trying to imply that. But let's face it -- when you describe someone as "English", the entire world has a pretty good idea of what you're talking about. "English culture" means something, we all know what it is. Sure it's a combination of Angles and Saxons and Normans and what have you, but it is still a very homogenous notion even today.

To avoid (yet again) coming off as racist or hateful, let me say the same thing for any other nation. Japan was taken over by the U.S., was it not? Defeated after WW2? Well I'm in NO favour of Americans overrunning Japan and displacing their native populace. Japan should be kept mostly Japanese so as to preserve their race and culture. Same with Russia, same with the Congo, same with Greece, same with any country.

I'm also not saying that minorities shouldn't exist at all. I think "diversity" (lowercase "D") is a GOOD thing, and that minorities add variance and perspective and unique foods and styles and cultures. BUT. I'd want them to remain just that - a minority. As in, no more than 10-15% of a populace total. And they should learn the mother country's language and try to assimilate as best they can, the way the early non-anglo european immigrants did in America.

Today, you get hispanics who not only refuse to learn English, they have the audacity to demand that the English-speaking government bend over backwards and use Spanish themselves! The gall....

If I were to go and emigrate to Syra, you can be sure I would not be demanding that that government start using English to accommodate me. The phrase "When in Rome..." comes to mind -- showing respect and deference to the culture you have decided to enter. Of course, we won't even touch upon the idea that if I emigrated to Syria, I'd probably get kidnapped by terrorists and tortured before suffering a brutal death. Funny how Muslims emigrating to France don't have to worry about the French government sanctioning something like that. Per usual, the West's tolerance is wasted on the intolerant. :-)

Oh well, this is kind of off the track for a Moz-solo discussion board. I just agree with Moz on his affection for an "Old England", and that Bengalis should shelve their Western plans ;-) I like the REAL kind of diversity where each country is unique with a unique people and a unique culture, instead of every single country being so overrun with every other country's people that all identity, history, and uniqueness are lost in one big blurry, discordant, fractured, and violent mess.

Believe me, I harbor no mean intent or hatred or intolerance -- it is purely a love of EACH nation's individual identity, and a wish to preserve that. Ie, in the same breath, I hate how America's McDonalds are overrunning France and littering their landscape with the golden arches. I support French movements against McDonald's wholeheartedly, and I'm American.

oooh I am impressed! Thanks Allegra. What can i say, it was late when i posted and was just trying to illustrate a point that you'd have to fall off the ends of the earth to find a 'pure nation'...

Your point stands regardless :-) I'd think apart from some African tribes, Japan is about as close as one is going to get, given their historically xenophobic mentality. Even with foreigners living there, the Japanese tend to keep things more segregated.

Weren't the Picts involved in the English invasion too? I somehow remember the Angles, Saxons, Picts, and Jutes? I think the Picts were Viking or otherwise Scandinavian, but sadly it's been far too long since I read a history of that nation...

    Cheers,
    J.T.
