I write songs, blah blah blah, and I must say... Come Back to Camden is the most inspired, gorgeous song that I have heard since Now My Heart is Full. I'm beginning to liken this album to a more personalized, reflective Vauxhall. I once thought Vauxhall to be the finest modern album ever recorded. Now, I'm beginning to have a change of heart. What an incredible, inspiring album, not to mention an unreal series of shows in NYC. There may be a bit of misguided vitriol dripping about, but congrats Moz... you're a legend now.

Please... Moz was a legend in the late-80's!

I find the new album/songs to be of the "grower" variety. I find myself feeling inspired after a few more listens..though the guitars could use some new blood behind them.

As for legendary, Moz has been an icon for two generations now..

It really is a beautiful song.Reminds me a bit of "Trouble Loves Me".

I am enjoying the album more and more and I am glad I wasn't slating it so soon after release because if I was I would be doing a lot of backtracking now.

The difficulty that a lot of Morrissey fans have is that they have been waiting for "Vauxhall and I Part 2" for over a decade and as it's never going to happen and they are continually disappointed when a Morrissey product is released.

I think he's went out on a limb with this album and he is reaping the benefits.

It's beautifully sung, the production is a giant leap from the Steve Lilleywhite days, and on Saturday nights' evidence I think I can say I have never seen Morrissey look so happy.

Morrissey was not a legend in the 80's or even the 90's.... legend status is achieved after the initial generation of fans are replaced by a new generation... which seems to be happening now (best selling album ever means not just us old-timers are buying it). AND after the artist has aged quite a bit, or has died. HE IS a legend now, since him and ourselves can truly introduce the music to a whole new generation--- without relying simply on the old records he made in HIS PRIME!!

Come Back to Camden is as good as, if not better than, Last Night Maudlin St.
It's the reflective masterpiece of a gracefully aged lyrical genius. "Drinking tea with a taste of the Thames"???? "Lounged with knees up and apart"???? "Slate-grey Victorian sky"??? This man is writing some of the best, most descriptive and personal lyrics of his entire career. And that's only one song.... "you have never been in love until you've seen the sunrise behind the home for the blind"???? At this rate, Moz will outshine the best of British poets.
