Default Doesn't Anyone in Manchester work?

Being in London and Manchester this past week, I found it absolutely fascinating and am a bit envious that in London and Manchester people are able to hang out in the parks or city centers, drink wine and just relax. It seems like a normal way of life, but how does anyone make a living out there? People in the US never do that. I guess thats why other countries look down on us.

Well... the population of Manchester is 2482328. (Two and a half million to you) Are you saying this many people were on the streets??? That's a lot of people!!! Course Saturday is not a working day either. Perhaps intelligence if the key factor on why other countries look down upon you??? Ever considered that???

Assholes..except Ann she was quite nice on her posting. I was paying a compliment to your country. I was in Manchester on Friday and Saturday, and London from Monday to Thursday. So my observation was during the week. So quite talking trash and recognize that I was paying a compliment and was sincere in saying I was envious. I appreciate the way of life in England. So shut your damn mouth, if you want to be mean you wankers!

“the world is FULL of crashing bores”. Obviously originality is not a strong point of yours either. *yawn

Anyway I have no wish to further this tedious conversation with a boorish, delusionoid like yourself. The news on here today is far to sad…..

Wrong my friend. I simply am putting you in place. I hate the fact we are at war. I live my life as a veg, trying to go vegan, strongly believe in the karma theory, and have 3 dogs that are all rescues.... I think that proves your analysis of me is completely wrong. I also think that if I am willing to go to Manchester for the concert, I must be a really big fan of MOZ, meaning I probably do have some kind of intelligence and understanding of what his music stands for and probably adapt it in my own life. Yes there are fans that go great lengths to fallow bands around, these people are groupies. Maybe I am a groupie, maybe not. I merely beleive in supporting intelligent artistic expression, and to me Morrissey is at the top of that chart. Independance is something we all have and not enough people express their true independence.

    Default Peace... war over.

Just and idea. But if you are complementing a place or country how about something along the lines of “Manchester… great city. Wonderful people. I loved it….” NOT something that could be mistaken for “Manchester… tramps… none of them work and they all get pissed during the day”….

See the difference. Can you blame my sarcastic attack??? Can you blame my defence??? Sorry if I got you wrong and you do sound like a decent person… but honestly there is a right and a wrong way to speak to people…..

So _no one_ works, because they live off the taxes that the people who _do_ work pay? Do you even understand what you write?

I'm not English, by the way, but it's not the only country in the world with a social welfare program.

Good isn't it Boingo? There really is no point in working all the hours God sends only to end up on a shrink's couch paying him/her to tell you what's wrong.

I had the impression that Americans had loads of time for leisure what with your SUVs and hunting trips, roller skating at Venice Beach, weekends at the Hamptons and white water rafting and all! You can probably tell from this that I watch Frasier and Sex & the City and believe the US is like that for everyone.

I don't know anyone who just hangs out in parks (except Morrissey). OK, people do go in their lunch break when there is good weather because you have to make the most of it. There are a group of people who sit in parks drinking wine (but they prefer to drink White Lightning or Tennent's Super). They don't work of course.

Am glad that you seem to have enjoyed your visit. Ignore the abuse.

I booked 2 days holiday so I could savour the atmos and look after my guests. Johnny needed his fry-up, you knw.
I'm sure most people booked the time off work. Is that so hard to grasp?
