Everyone should check out the band "Placebo". Their music is incredible. They do a live cover of "bigmouth strikes again", so basically we have to love them no matter what now! =)

To listen to the cover of "bigmouth strikes again", go to:

http://www.thebsh.com/intro.htm, then click on "sounds" on the left hand column, then scroll down to "real audio" and click on "bigmouth strikes again". It's a great version.

Toodles!

I finaly gave that remake a listen about two months ago(after much thought and debate), and i thought they did a great job on it. I think what impressed me the most was placebo didnt try to copy the song smiths style....and they had the guts to change some of the lyrics. Placebo is one of the better bands i have come across in while......give them a listen.

There is a studio version on "The Smiths Is Dead". Placebo have their moments, but Brian Molko isn't quite the same lyrical calibre as Morrissey.

"A friend in need is a friend inded
A friend with weed is better
A friend with breasts and all the rest
A friend who's dressed in leather"

Not that I disagree with his logic, but I've been more inspired by Tindersticks, Magnetic Fields, Divine Comedy, Red House Painters, Scott Walker, Auteurs and Pet Shop Boys.
