Default MOZ GAME ( ANY MOVIES WITH MORRISSEY REF:)

Any loafing oafs out there in a hum drum town want to take a stab at this?
Name a movie that has ANY Morrissey references in them. (lyrics, posters on a wall, songs, ect.. and thing you can think of)

    I'll go first:

    Ferris Buller's Day Off

Please, Please, Please, Let Me get what I want (instrumental)

Pretty in Pink--"Please, Please, Please...", also in the Record store that Molly Ringwold works at there is a Smiths poster on the door. And in one scene when "Blaine" comes in he is standing in front of the Smiths' record section.

Urban Legend--there is a flyer on the wall behind one of the characters at one point that says, I think, "moz fest" or something and it has a picture of Morrissey.

The Commitments--when they are holding tryouts for band members this guy come to the door with a quiff and maybe some flowers and starts singing "heaven knows..."(I think that's the song he sings).

That's all I can think of right now. I won't list soundtrack credits.

The Wedding Singer -- Robbie comes staggering home drunk while Linda is waiting for him. The song "How Soon Is Now?" is playing and Robbie whines that he doesn't want to be alone.

Damn you Shelly, you took my Pretty in Pink comments! Great movie. In Urban Legends, if I recall correctly, written on the wall of the library is "Shoplifters of the world unite and take over." :P

It seems as though I will be the only one here to cite a direct Morrissey reference in a film.
In 1998's "Dreams of an Insomniac" starring Ione Skye and Jennifer Aniston, Ione's character meets a man whom she likes and they begin a discussion where each of them quote a philospher or poet of some sort and the other one guesses who they are quoting. Ione quotes"I am not a central part of your mind's landscape whether you care or do not" to which he replies
    Stephen Patrick Morrissey.
I doubt there are many other, if any examples of this magnitude to Morrrisey in a film.

    Default Araki & Leigh

in Greg Araki's The Doom Generation, Rose McGowan's boyfriend tells a story about a suicidal, depressive friend of his that was really into The Smiths. According to the story, the kid pulled the trigger during "Unloveable".

If I'm not mistaken, i think there are other Araki films that reference Morrissey too, but I'm not sure.

Also In Mike Leigh's "Career Girls" someone in the movie wears a Morrissey shirt in a sex scene, apparently...

In "She's having a baby," they play "You just haven't earned it yet, baby" while Kevin Bacon is waiting for the train to work. unfortunately, it's not The Smiths version, but is cool, nevertheless.

Houseguest - great movie with Sinbad and the late Phil Hartman, had that psycho depressed teenage girl wear a Smiths T-shirt throughout the entire movie. She was pretty cute, too. I'd do her.

what a fitting way to ... yes, what?

I think Araki's Doom Generation mentions the Smiths twice ... look at the credits & thank you's in the end (could be mistaken, though).

In the movie "THE LIVING END" the main charachter has a Smiths poster on the wall in his kitchen.

Ive also seen some movie where there is a BARBARISM BEGINS AT HOME poster up...cant think of what it was though.

Also "Dream with the Fishes"...I think there is a t-shirt somewhere in that.

All the others I can think of were allready mentioned

The band was Love spit love and they're great (at least I think so). The singer (Richard Butler) used to be the singer of the Psychedelic Furs. But of course the Smiths version of the song was better, I agree with you on that!
