I've wondered about some lyrics in this song for all the years since it had come out.

Everyday is like Sunday
"Win Yourself A Cheap Tray"
Share some greased tea with me
Everyday is silent and grey

What is the "Cheap Tray"? and

what is "greased tea"?

Thanks

"Cheap Tray" - silly prize that one might win in a tombola or somesuch game on a seaside pier.

"Greased tea" = fish and chips/ battered savaloy(sausage) and chips etc - greasy 'dinner'. Northerners eat 'tea' not 'dinner' when they get home from work.
