Default "We Can Have Both" sign holders: Please Explain

To quote Morrissey: "We can have both? What's that supposed to mean?" From how Morrissey was reacting, it doesn't seem like he ever figured it out, either. Were you proclaiming your acceptance of a wealth you never had as a child? Or are you less than subtly trying to tell the world you are bisexual? If it is either of these, we don't much care. But if there is a deeper significance, please let us know. Or was it merely an attempt to be clever, without substance?
Leave your signs at home. This isn't the "Today" show.

Surely you know of a b-side from Alma Matters called "I Can Have Both." We just really liked Morrissey's more recent b-sides (e.g. Lost, Now I Am a Was, Edges, etc.) We wanted to let Moz and th'Lads know that we were eager to hear more of those great b-sides gems in the future.

As I had already done "LOST" on the last tour and everything else was kind of hard to write, we just did ICHB. We came up with the sign jointly and so changed the "I" to "We."

Arch as ever with the ambiguity of his lyrics Morrissey feigned ignorance with the meaning of "I [We] Can Have Both." Bravo, we wouldn't expect anything less you sly devil! Of course he couldn't hear me, but I yelled back to him "It means whatever YOU mean with the title ICHB." Remember the previous night when he said "For this next song you shouldn't look for any secondary meaning in this song [Sunny] because there isn't any first [meaning]"? And then in the next song [Half a Person] he prefaced it with "As for this next one, it's nothing but secondary meaning..." What a joker.

As for being subtle. We ain't no wordsmiths, but then waving around a phallic banana at one's crotch isn't very subtle, either.

We didn't bring any signs from home. It was just on the table in front of us waiting to be transformed. I'm sorry I don't understand the "Today" show reference. I may not be English, but I do feel stupid. No, really. I'm not being facetious. Is it a tv show? I don't watch tv, so I wouldn't know.

I think it's a clever sign and needs no explanation. You should've told Moz: "It means whatever you want it to mean." Morrissey hates it when people get sarcastic with him. I always heckle him and I know it bugs him because in London he went: "There's a slight silence so you really should say something at this stage because if you say something we'll all remember it forever."

Well, I fail to see how it is so clever when it really doesn't have any meaning at all. There's no pun, no joke. I think next time I will hold up a sign that says "Air A Parent" and when he asks me what it means I'll say "it means whatever you want it to mean". Or maybe a sign that says "itjdildkjfunvvhfuhurhjnfdd"--you all know what that means, right?
And Morrissey wasn't trying to be coy like "oh, I know what that means, I'll just play dumb", I felt like he was saying "get a life and why would you go through the trouble of making a huge sign of nonsense?". I mean, maybe if you wanted him to play that song or something it would be cool. But just so you can show everyone you've bought the "alma matters" single?

"We Can Have Both" directed at Moz. I'll use my imagination. We can have your show and YOU.

The song was Swallow on my Neck...not Sunny.
