SMITHS FRONTMAN IN FRAME IF MANCHESTER IS RE-BRANDED

MORRISSEY - A CHARMING NAME FOR AN AIRPORT?

Welcome to Morrissey airport.
It may seem like a flight of fancy, but the idea of a new name for the city's airport could yet take off.
The morose singer-song writer of the 1980's group The Smiths is one of the more perhaps unlikely of a long list of Great Mancunians who could lend a little kudos and glamour to the two runways and three terminals.

The article goes on to say how high profile Liverpool airport is since it became the John Lennon airport and other airports are named after people such as JFK in New York and Charles de Gaulle in Paris etc.

Other suggestions mentioned are the Bee Gees, LS Lowry, Gracie Fields, Emmeline Pankhurst, Alan Turing - and in typical MEN 'we love Man United and must get their name into any article' style - Eric Cantona (a Frenchman!)

The piece said you could comment on this on the website, but I couldnt find the link to this article at all - if anyone else can??

within, there would probably be located the "Mike Joyce Urinals"

Re: I would like it to be Andy Rourke Airport but I don't think it would happen.

Like Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orlenes.

Re: Didn't someone say it might be called Noel Gallagher Airport? I hope that doesn't happen.

Like the jazz legend Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orlenes!

Re: Sorry but I don't like Oasis at all. And football is very boring!

Man United yes Andy Rourke supports this.
But football is soooo boring.
I don't support any team.
Football is so trible and can get agressive.
