El Vez.... where is the Mexican Morrissey

Enough idle chatter! Morrissey is crying out for his Mexican twin. We must bring forth a Mexican Morrissey at once or we are doing Moz a great injustice. Morrissey is not just experiencing a brief fascination with Mexican culture, rather he is suffering and demanding that we bring forth his Mexican couterpart.

What do you think Morrissey meant at Cochella when he sang "To be Mexican would be a relief"! I feel strongly that if we do not do this right away, this tour will be his last.

I was at the Santa Barbara show and I found El Vez to be terribly ridiculous. I know there were many people who felt the same way regardless of there race!!!!

I agree. It was like watching an annoying cartoon. I'm glad El Vez is "just too busy" to open for Moz now.

Mikel Erentxun: the Latin MORRISSEY

Mikel Erentxum has been greatly influenced by Moz, and has successfully covered "There is a Light that Never Goes Out" and "Everyday is Like Sunday" in spanish. Viva Moz, and Viva Mikel!
see you all at the Palladium.

De acuerdo!!

MOZ IS MOZ!!!

There is only ONE Morrissey. We don't need a Mexican impersonater. Why do we feel the need to identify with Moz thru our race, ethnicity, etc...?
Don't get me wrong I do love the Moz boys running around with their pompadors especially the Mexican ones.
It's really great that that boy who sings Moz's music in Spanish has found an audience and success, but he is not the latin Morrissey.
There will never be, and El Vez isn't the Mexican Elvis.
Elvis is Elvis.
Moz is Moz.
They are legends.
No lil other ethnic wannabes could ever compare or do the job.

to Hated for ignorance,

what a moron you must be- singers, like athletes, are compared to other singers and athletes for the sake of identification. Ex. people compare Kobe Bryant to Jordan, by saying he is a Jordan type player. Same as saying current reggae artist are Bob Marley type...
I assume you can't understand the Spanish lyrics sung by Erentxun, so you won't ever know how good of a job he did in translating the music. Do your research moron, he isn't an impersonator, he has his own songs, he just choose to cover a few moz songs as a tribute. Would Nirvana be called impersonators cause they choose to cover a David Bowie song?

There is no one that can compare to Morrissey. Mikel does do a great job at covering those songs in Spanish, BUT he is NOT his TWIN!!!

Yipes! I saw him up close, face to face! "Yikes...look at those teeth! I said to myself...

He sings great though! But those teeth...

I honestly adore Mikels cover of "There is a Light". It made up for the injustice ocean colour blue did to the song.

I AM not ignorant. You are very touchy Sweetie.

Actually I'm not but you are entitled to your opinion, thank you.

True.

You can only compare them.
Jordan is a legend and Bob Marley is the biggest Legend ever.

When you "assume" you make an ASS out of you and me!

That's great. Actually I've never heard his covers but if you read my post carefully you would have noticed that I was glad he covered those songs in Spanish and found success and an audience who appreciated them.

Do your research moron,

Wow, now I'm a moron! Love you too Baby. This is all so petty.

I never said Erentxun was an impersonator my dear. I was trying to say that we don't need a Mexican, Latin whatever Morrissey.I was responding to previous posts asking where the Mex Moz was. I was just saying that there was no need.
Moz is Moz. Cover bands are great but something's always missing.

Would Nirvana be called > impersonators cause they choose to cover a David Bowie song?

No. I see YOUR point but really YOU didn't understand what I was trying to say I wasn't talking bad about your buddy Erentxun.
There is no Mexican Moz and there will never be.
Moz is Moz I say again.
I am mine and am not ignorant but obvoiously
I am hated for loving! AHHH!!!
See you in SD, LA and Vegas my Dearest.
