A little bit non-plussed by the vocals on irish blood, english heart.
But at least everyone notices that partial is a weird non-rhyme for shameful.
That tacky whoosh noise is a bit odd too.
But it's all very nice, I suppose.

Well, racial is also a non-rhyme for shameful, but let's not get bogged down by daft idiosyncrasies. This Jerry Finn version is a country mile better than the Janice Long version. I just find it a shame that Gary's bass is stuck on one note in the second verse, and that the pre-chorus guitar swell appears like it's been tagged on to the beginning, but they're monor gripes really. The silly whooshes grew on me after a few listens - it certainly diverts away from the mild mundanity of the simple bass-line. Oh what the hell, go out and buy it and make it number one, and let's shoehorn all the manufactured pap out of the top spot.

And before you ask, yes i DO know what a monor gripe is.

That's a ridiculous analysis. There's more to rhyming than having the same fucking letters match. It's not a "non-rhyme." It's perfectly lyrical.
But racial and shameful both have the same 'a' sound. Partial has a long 'a'. Thassall, like. I can't wait to see Oliver Cromwell mentioned on top of the pops. Make the dream real.

Good Lord, it's been a while since we've had a Radiohead reference on this board - Stop Whispering?
