> Has anyone got a GOOD guide to Morrissey's Manchester, (the¿ places past and recent associated with the great man),or knows¿ of a Web site address which would help?
Well, it's not much of a guide, let alone a GOOD guide, but it's a start:
http://www.pe.net/~pooh/mozzer/SMozsites/manchester/manc-index.html
If you know what the place is called, the folks at the Visitors Centre will kindly show you on a map (free!) how to get there -- e.g., Salford Lads Club, Strangeways, Southern Cemetary (the place Moz and Linder used to wander, probably inspiring the song "Cemetry Gates"). There's also a guy at the Visitors Centre who can give you a walking tour of the SMiths Manchester.
I'd welcome any further elaborations to help with the woefully underdeveloped site. There used to be some good record shops with all kinds of bootlegs, but they were gone when I last visited Manchester. Another Rock'n'Roll guide to significant sites mentioned a Mancunian record shop where young Morrissey supposedly once worked. Can anyone confirm this?
