Is it true that someone once held up a Denver radio station with a loaded gun, demanding that five hours of Smiths/morrissey tunes be played?

Yes, it's true. I believe it happened in 1987, right after the Smiths broke up. Apparently the person was so distraught upon the band's breakup that he went mad and demanded the disc jockey play the Smiths over the radio, at gunpoint.

Wasn't that incident the basis for the movie "Airheads" that was about an rock band taking over a readio station? The soundtrack for which included, if I remember correctly, Anthrax doing "London".
