It doesn't hurt anyone (and marriage is a thing -- a human construct -- so it cannot be hurt), so who gives a f***? People who oppose gay marriage are bigots and busybodies who need to worry about their damn selves.

Also, the civil union "compromise" is bullshit. It would afford all the same rights as marriage except it won't be called marriage. In other words, a law banning gay marriage and allowing gay civil unions would essentially be a law about semantics.

Haven't we got bigger fish to fry?
