    Default Smutty Morrissey Lyrics

And when we're in your scholarly room
    Who will swallow whom?

When i was listening to Handsome Devil on the way home from work, it suddenly dawned on my just how dirty that particular line is (or maybe i just have a dirty mind?)

Anyway, what other examples of smut can you think of in Morrissey's lyrics? I'm sure there is more than just this particular one (at least i hope!)

Hahaha, I've always loved that dirty line. Morrissey seems so uptight sometimes, but really, we know better.

What about "A tough kid who sometimes swallows nails" from "I Want The One I Can't Have"? That's pretty dirty if you think about it.

And "I look at yours, you laugh at mine" from "Miserable Lie." Half that song actually.

    Who says Morrissey isn't sexy?

Default From It May All End Tomorrow (LASID)

"...features one of Morrissey's most bizarre Smiths-era lyrics, "A tough kid who sometimes swallows nails". This line is actually a reference to director Howard Sachler's description of James Dean as a "tough kid who sometimes sleeps on nails"; many think the change of line is an oral sex reference."

Default That entire song is pretty filthy.

    A boy in the bush
Is worth two in the hand...

Oh, let me get my hands
    On your mammary glands...

I'm fond of this line from I Want the One I Can't Have:

And if you ever need self-validation
Just meet me in the alley by the
    Railway station
    It's all over my face

    What's all over his face?

Not to be blasphemous or anything, but this reminds me of that episode of South Park where Cartman forms a Christian rock band. He takes love songs and changes the words slightly to make them about Jesus.

"I want to get down on my knees and start pleasing Jesus. I want to feel his salvation all over my face."

    Nice.

Don't drop lines WeiB.. isn't that last nine 'It's WRITTEN all over my face'.. which makes it a little less blatant but to me innocently more suggestive. I think your succumbing to wishful thinking.

Don't forget most of Pretty Girls make graves... (which is my destiny)..

'End of the pier, end of the bay
You tug my arm, and say : "Give in to lust,
Give up to lust, oh heaven knows we'll
    Soon be dust ... "

    'She wants it Now
    And she will not wait
    But she's too rough
    And I'm too delicate '

    'Then, on the sand
Another man, he takes her hand
A smile lights up her face '

I just love that song anyway.. it was a soundtrack to a part of my life.

Definately one of my favourite Smiths songs, but I don't like your edited version Ruff

    Default Ruffian, to clarify...

The lyric is indeed *written* "it's written all over my face", though that is not how it is sung on Meat is Murder. Which, and I'm listening to it as I type, only fuels the indecency because he knowingly dropped the word while singing it

It also begs the question I've posted here a few times in the past: Which is more correct--the copyrighted words on paper or the copyprotected and most accessible spoken version?

Oh, the list of innuendo in Moz lyrics is endless. Apart from the ones already mentioned in the thread, here's one of my favourites.

"Slap me on the patio, I'll take it slowly"

What about "You've got everything now"?

    "But I don't want a lover
I just want to be seen ... oh ... in the back of your car"

    "But I don't want a lover
I just want to be tied ... oh ... to the back of your car
To the back of your car
    Oh ... "

    And "This charming man"?

    "Why pamper life's complexities
when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?"

It seems like Morrissey likes car seats. Leather ones. Hu-hu. Dirty Morrissey!

"I Started Something I Couldn't Finish" is a bit rude

    "Hair brushed and parted"

"I grabbed you by the guilded beams"

I'm looking forward to hearing "You know I Couldn't Last"
