Jack the Ripper, Johnny Depp, Ivor Novello & Morrissey

Has anyone seen the film 'From Hell', which, I'm told is about Jack the Ripper and stars Johnny Depp? I believe he's a neighbour of Morrissey's. Looking around the internet I was surprised to see that well known homosexual Ivor Novello played Jack in two films (one as a silent film, another a 'talkie'). Morrissey got an Ivor Novello award for his achievements didn't he?

Is 'From Hell' any good?

Interesting connections you've made there!

From Hell was okay. A tad over-the-top in some respects (did anyone notice his eyes in cetain scenes?), and a bit predictable, but an otherwise fine film. And Johnny Depp is one of the few "stars" who is actually a talented actor as well.

Do you think he and Morrissey have tea together sometimes (being neighbours and all)?

Thanks Jo. I think I'll look out for that film now.

Re: Oh! and Katrin Cartlidge....

Oh! and Katrin Cartlidge was in 'From Hell' too. Morrissey dedicated 'Late Night Maudlin St.' to her memory. I think I should get this film. Enough Morrissey connections already!
