Default Dead or Alive v Smiths

Morrissey & Pete Burns of Dead or Alive were once reported as being friends.
Anyone know if they remain in touch.
Dead or Alive have had a Greatest Hits package released on CD & DVD and are currently experiencing some media interest as well as remaining popular in Japan.
Mr Burns is keen to work with Pet Shop Boys & record a song that Neil & Chris have written that they feel would really suit his voice.
I'd like to see a Morrissey / Burns collaboration of some sort, even if it were in the form of a mix of a song from each camp a-la Qmix currently popular on cable & Sattelite stations.
Anyone else have an interest of a similar nature?
I realise that this could be a worst nightmare scenario for some of you, I just thought it might be an interesting project - perhaps they could do a duet?

Looking forward to hearing the new album, hopefully in the not too distant future.

Comparing Pete Burns to Morrissey is a bit like comparing Dale Winton to Oscar Wilde.

In saying that, if Morrisseys previous duet/colaborations are anything to go by it might be an improvement. 'Interlude' and 'Golden Lights' are about as memorable as a wet weekend in Bridlington.

I know what you mean about Golden Lights, not one of my favourite Moz moments. The DOA Smiths thing was not a comparisson, far from it, its just that I happen to like both artists, they are in many ways at opposite ends of the musical scale (no pun intended), & therefore I thought it might be interesting to hear a collaboration or mix of the 2. Some of these seem to work really well, Kylie Minogue & New Order for example - other dont really work at all to my mind, Desinys Child & Nirvana is the perfect crime - 2 great songs that have been mashed together rather than mixed. Actually Im not a great fan of remixes but occasionally something comes along that makes me sit up & listen. I really liked Morrissey venture into Rockabilly, maybe he should work with the Stray Cats, could be interesting (drug)? Have you heard any of the really early dead or alive music, best described as punk disco, really hard, agressive & clever lyrics, probably why Morrissey was interested in meeting Pete Burns in the first place.

My fault and apologies for my naivety but my knowledge of DOA does n't stretch much further than 'You Spin me..'.

Fortunately and by sheer coincidence my girlfriends sister bought DOA Greatest Hits from Virgin at the weekend out of the bargain bin (I think it cost about £3). I'll borrow it soon and give you an opinion.

Talking of spinning right round have you tried this-

While sitting at your desk make clockwise circles with your right
    foot.

While doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right
    hand.

Try keeping your foot going clockwise. Bet you can't.

What direction is your foot going now?

    Cheers

I believe it was Pete Burns that "collaborated" with Morrissey (The Smiths) in one of there early gigs. I think the song was Barbarism. I have the bootleg, although I'm not to sure which one it is. Hope this helps.

That sounds cool, B e D. But can it be done anywhere else? I haven't sat at a desk since 1975. But I'd really like to try it.
    Cheers.

Yes they did 'Duet' on "Barbarism begins at Home" but it was on The Smiths tour of America. The whole tour was sold out & they hadn't even put a record out at that time neither!

I think you can do it in an armchair or even on a park bench; though you might look like a bit of an oddball.

Oh, that's alright. I'm used to that. Cheers.
