Any fans out there? I never really cared for them until I heard the album 'Grand Turismo'. There are some great tracks on that disc.
How many albums have they done in total? I also have the album 'First Band on the Moon' but I've never given it much of a listen. Should I?

I'm not a fan, as I am of Morrissey, but yeah I like them.
That album is more up and happy, or more rock sounding than the previous ones.
The early ones were more acoustic.

Their first album from 1994 is Emmerdale, with the single "Rise and Shine".
in 1995 they released Life, with the very popular single "Sick and Tired".
"First Band on the Moon" which came out in 1996 is I think their most successful album with the hit "Lovefool".
Then came Grand Turismo.
They now have a new album Long Gone Before Daylight with the European hit
"For What It's Worth".

Try a file sharing software to download a few songs, to see if you like them.

Re: oh, and they're Morrissey/Smiths fans, so that's always good.

Long Gone Before Daylight is my favourite album this year. It's a solid gold classic.

Yeah, but the people who love Grand Turismo, maybe won't love it as much.

Thank you nonesoever.
Have you heard their new album yet or just the one song?

They might not like any of their albums, but then again, they might.

I didn't like Grand Turismo that much, I like the sound of the new singles,
which is more like their earlier albums. That's why I said that.

Cool but is still GRAN Turismo not GRAND Turismo. Why won't people believe me???

The two singles, haven't heard the album yet, though Razz did apparently.
The second single is called "The Storm" I think.

You're right, I wasn't sure about that one, I should have checked.

Oh, the cardigans are a fine band, Terror.
They released an album in the UK around 95 which was like a 'best of' from three albums they had only released in their native Sweden.
For the life of me, I cannae remember the name of it, but it's excellent. It was followed by 'first band on the moon' which is also brilliant.
You should give it more of a listen. You won't be sorry. I promise. (and I don't make many promises).

I agree Gender
I've been aware of them for years, thought they were ok but never really got into them until the most recent album... a slice of pop genius, lovely lovely lovely! I'd recommend anyone to give it a listen.

I really like 'Life'. The first (?) single taken from it was 'Carnival' and that will definitley have you swinging your hips to it.

I think it was after 'Loovefool' they became 'popular' and a bit commercial. I'm not that mad on Grand Turismo, (but 'Erase/Rewind' is a fantastic song)

The earlier stuff is more mellow and 'cute'.

The only reason you like The Cardigans is because cardigans are still the height of fashion down your way...and dungarees.

don't bother, very average!

Excuse me, Mr D, but my purple and green cardy is the talk of my library because it is SO this season!
It goes a treat with my beige 'A'-line skirt, too.

Now where have my glasses got to? I had them on a string around my neck...

Wouldn't Bother

I won a copy of their most recent album (whatever it was called) and it is truly complete and utter tripe. Musically unremarkable and lyrically just complete vacuous waffle - it's sad that a band so banal should cite Moz as an influence. It's a pity, because I really liked that "Favourite Game" single.
