Morrissey actually LIKES this movie? I know he likes Mike Leigh and Kolya (which is good) ... but this film ... is so boring ... it's fascinating. (He was always lying about only watching pre-1970 films.)

"Nil By Mouth," the film that was directed by Gary Oldman, right? The bleak movie that'll cause mass suicide because of it's massively depressing portrayal of spousal abuse. By the way, I can understand Morrissey liking Mike Leigh movies, but this is probably because of that guy wearing the Smiths' shirt in the middle of "Working Girls." Anyway, that was a good movie.
if you did you would know that this is one of the greatest movies ever made. way too real.
'ave a butchers at this !
>If you did then you would know that Stallone should have earned an oscar.
The clash between Hollywood and the Valley. The drama. The Romance. The pain. The Plimsouls.
"Is this movie in 3-D?"
"No, but your face is!"
I didn't have trouble with the slang, but I still thought it sucked. The critics thought it sucked. It bombed at Cannes. Gary Oldman has no experience as a director and it shows. He forgot to include plot and characters in his movie, and there really wasn't anything else to make up for it. It's only a good movie if you find mindless brutality intrinsically interesting. If you want to see a plotless movie about miserable people, 'Distant Voice, Still Lives' is much better.
"I don't have a death wish".
