oh, the kids at the kindergarten probably won't pick on him
since they won't know what they all mean.

I knew that, the problem is what was good about the 90s.

Of course that's important, but moreover when you sit in front of the TV
you can give your commentary and that makes the experience much more
enjoyable. As well as the fast access to the kitchen and bathroom.

    > yeah, but you see...they usually don't go back to the original writer and

Well, sometimes someone else's opinion may be good.
As long as they don't change the concept completely, I think it's OK.

    > i was playing a guitar and singing. same result

Well, we have too many of those.

    > if only i had thought of it.

Yeah, who would have thought a nerd with glasses, in wizardry school,
would be such a big success. Not his classmates I bet.

    > i like that sort of stuff. not stephen king per se, but i think i like it

I like scaring other people, not the other way round.

Yeah and here is the support group for Morrissey-anonymous.

You should get ADSL. You can download movies, music, games ...
the possibilities are limited to that.

    > the problem is that i'm not adventurous enough to lie like that.

It's not lying, you work in a TV station, I bet you get sample tapes
all the time, that's the way the TV business work.
They send you tapes of shows and you decide if to air them or not.

    > actually, i attended the same community college that he did.

I said, you shouldn't take pride in that.

but a movie theater is so nice because everything is huge

if you make him the best at everything, that's the clincher.

    > I like scaring other people, not the other way round.

    > Yeah and here is the support group for Morrissey-anonymous.

he knows how to pick my pockets.

that reminds me, i still need to go get the new compilation...

    > You should get ADSL. You can download movies, music, games ...
    > the possibilities are limited to that.

i'm not paying $60 a month so i can download this one thing.

i'm not overly interested in downloading music or movies because i rarely do it. but if the rumor is true that it's going to be on the same DVD as the concert, i'll just wait...

    > It's not lying, you work in a TV station, I bet you get sample tapes
    > all the time, that's the way the TV business work.
    > They send you tapes of shows and you decide if to air them or not.

no, that's not how it works, actually.

if we were approaching them to claim that we were interested in airing the entire program, then a contract would have to be written up before they turned loose of it.

if we wanted to air it as part of a news segment, then we'd have to have some sort of material sharing agreement. and if they did send a tape, they would have to fed ex it which would be expensive as it wouldn't look very professional to stick it on the slow boat, or they would offer to open up a satellite window to feed it to us and that in itself costs money.

so the more i think about it, going through the TV station wouldn't work at all.

if i posed as a writer who is working on a biography...but then again, i think they'd be able to see through that because i'd have no publisher, agent, or references...

    > I said, you shouldn't take pride in that.

60$ seems too much to me.
40$ is the maximum you should pay, I don't know how much dial-up
costs btw. Maybe ask a friend with broadband to download it for you.

I've seen the first half of the documentary and considerable minutes of it,
are dedicated to images of him half naked or more.
It makes me sad he wasted 6 years and now he's almost too old, there's
no hiding it. Nice film though.

I think you're over assessing things.
If they send you a tape, it doesn't mean you can air it,
it just means you can review the film.
Of course a contract should be signed in order to air it.
But how do you know if you want to, if you hadn't seen the
    film.

If you have no relations with them, then that can be a problem I agree.
But I don't think they'll object sending you this tape, they do it all
the time. Postage fees won't alarm them.

i think there are things that work at certain ages.

but there were also some books that came out around the time i was 12 that had slight resemblance to harry potter and i read a couple of them. Judy Blume is another.

dial up costs about $20 a month. DSL and Cable are almost always over $50. sure they may have "introductory deals" but you have to sign a contract to get it.

    > I've seen the first half of the documentary and considerable minutes of

why? is he half-naked just for the hell of it? is he out grocery shopping? singing in a concert?

i don't think you can just simply "review" it like that.

this is about making it look like official business, remember?

also, we know that people from the BBC read this website. they could probably figure it out very quickly....actually they probably don't need to read this website to figure out that someone is lying.

    how do you know?

look, if they had something at the end of the documentary asking if anyone wants a copy of the program that has just aired and said, "send $20 to this address" i'd do it.

    > You're making things way too complicated.

no i'm not. i'm rightfully seeing what a mess it could turn out to be. and besides, i don't like making people go out of their way like that when there isn't any need.

i'm a patient person. i can live with the 56K version until the DVD maybe comes out.

Yeah, but if a script turns out as a hit, would one get percentage?

You needed your Morrissey. Didn't anyone want to play with you?

Is that just for the ISP?

    > why? is he half-naked just for the hell of it? is he out grocery shopping?

There's footage of a photo shoot where he's half naked and wearing a rob,
him on stage being hugged by fans, while wearing no shirt, Linder
taking his photo while he's sunbathing, young Morrissey footage sunbathing
with boxers ... the list goes on.
And I think a fan from Australia who won a contest to meet him, back in
1992, meets him in 2002 in his dressing room and asks him if she'll get to see
him naked and he answers "in your dreams".

    > he's almost too old for what?

For being on stage ... "you silly old man", you know.
When you'll finally see the movie, you'll understand.

    > i don't think you can just simply "review" it like that.

you can now download the smallest version which is 60MB in size,
the quality won't be very good, but you'll get the sense of it
and it would only take you a couple of hours.

even if i had known how to get in contact with him, he can't buy anyone an audience. the artist has to earn it themselves....just like he did so long ago.

i don't think so. if he's still got the magic, it doesn't matter how old he is.

yes it is, but people get funny about the content contained within the tape.

i'm not worried about that as much as waiting for 8 hours for it to complete...so i waited until later last night and got it in under an hour. sadly, i think there was more JK Rowling than moz.

I don't like the movements he acquired as of late. or rather lack of
    movement.
Of course I haven't seen him live ever, so I form my opinions only
    on footage.
The documentary begins very well, but it runs out of steam as it

I thought you have dial-up!? Do you mean only the first part?

The famous fax machine gets a nice shot too.
He tells the cameraman not to shoot it, as it's the cheapest machine

its not really the same thing when you have camera angles involved..and lets not forget editing can make things look more or less exciting than what they really were...and there really hasn't been much from his last tour as of yet that i've seen...

There's a considerable live footage in this documentary, and it doesn't
look that good to me. But hey, that's just me.
Except for one part with the cord whipping.

    > c'mon. he visits a strip club. it can't be that dull.

That strip club bit, is staged and a bit overplayed and not at all spontaneous.
It pretty much lacks purpose in this documentary.
I love the footage of him driving his convertible with the Husky dog
    seating in the passenger's seat.
That Husky is very well behaved.
The scene in the barber's shop is a bit embarrassing.

It's not dull in anyway, I just think the beginning is the best part.
As it is with most things.
Morrissey seems a bit speechless at times and doesn't have enough
witty and clever things to say.
Maybe it's because he didn't really like to participate in this film,
or the editing. I heard he said in an interview that he wasn't pleased
that some scenes were left out.
He also says he doesn't want to talk to people, that's why he prefers
    the stage.

Yeah, the sound is pretty poor also in the bigger version, I've downloaded,
but there's a better version now.
Anyway I can understand what is being said. Most of it is positive
(including the occasional F word by Noel).

    > funny how he's more protective of his fax than his own nephew.

His two nephew are also interviewed and they seem very excited with the
    life Morrissey has in LA.
The fax thing gets a lot of discussion, supposedly he has abandoned
sending faxes in his 3 years old handwriting for the computer

well, we can't be "on" all the time, and i was kinda worried this might happen because i'm sure at all times he was trying to keep from slipping and saying something that he might find embarrassing later on. i'm very surprised that he did it and i never would have guessed in a million years that he would have allowed to have cameras follow him during his daily activities when you can't hardly drag him to be in front of a camera as it is.

but i can't tell what he says....period. it seems like the people with higher voices were much easier to understand.

that's why i'm waiting for the DVD. it seems like they've done that unfortunate thing of making the background noise louder than the vocal track, and its most likely the fault of whoever mixed the original sound.

    > His two nephew are also interviewed and they seem very excited with the

that will be interesting to see if they have the morrissey clone syndrome as well.

i didn't get a good look last night because it was about 1AM.

I bet it has a completely different feeling when you're there.

I don't know, but I don't think it was Morrissey's initiative to go to the strip club.

See what he says about it, in the I-D interview:
    http://www.morrissey-solo.com/discuss/index.cgi?noframes;read=114720

Seems that a lot of the better stuff was left out.
He should ask them for the material and compile a documentary
of his own to include on an upcoming DVD.

Someone transcribed the film, so you can read it:

Not at all. They have very short hair, and they look very young.

E-mail is apparently too advance, he faxed something he printed
on a computer. I don't think I saw the computer there by the way.
He has an Oye Esteban poster on the wall though.

i liked him in the glasses and blue jean jacket...

its not as much the songs because some songs could have been interchanged with others, but he did seem very lively at that show....much more than when i saw him in '97 because he just looked unhappy the entire time.

yeah, i was thinking last night it would be fun to take the material and re-edit it.

the assumption is they grow older...

i read that last night, and i was thinking "is this it?" because i would have thought that following him around for 6 months meant something more than the old subjects. from what i could tell, they could have filmed the story that they ended up with in about 2 weeks because it looked simply more like a promotional video to introduce to people who he is.

    I thought he looked bloated.
And I think jean use should be limited to pants.

Well, he wasn't very happy in The Smiths as well, but the performance was
good. I think he does his best when depressed (i.e. Vauxhall).

    > i didn't think moz was that furry...

He's not, but boy can he catch a Frisbee.

Yeah, but they don't look like the young Morrissey either.

If you read the I-D interview, you'd know there was lots more,
but Channel 4 wanted to dumb it down and hence the result.
I doubt anyone who doesn't like him, bothered watching it anyway,
    so the point was missed.

there is nothing wrong with the jacket! especially on him.

but i did like that clip because you just think of what its like hanging out at his own house and not hearing him shout into a microphone or anything.

    > Well, he wasn't very happy in The Smiths as well, but the performance was

er, maybe...i dunno. i don't think i'd wish for him to be unhappy just to make good records.

    > He's not, but boy can he catch a Frisbee.

does he roll over and let you rub his belly?

    > Yeah, but they don't look like the young Morrissey either.

i couldn't tell from the clip, but it looks like the cousin shares some similarities with the face...

its not about liking or not liking. i'm sure even some of those people tune in and don't admit it.

And who made you the prime authority on fashion issues?

Morrissey said and I quote: "The Smiths were the worst dressed group in
the history of cloth". My point exactly.

Oh, later in the film, he does a little tour of the house.
He has what I think, is a very nice back yard.
Although that house is too elaborate for me to know exactly
where everything is. I don't know how many rooms it has as well.

    > er, maybe...i dunno. i don't think i'd wish for him to be unhappy just to

Yeah, but if in order to be happy he needs prescribed drugs,
I think it's a bit artificial. It's not who he is.

    > does he roll over and let you rub his belly?

    Only on stage ...

    > i couldn't tell from the clip, but it looks like the cousin shares some

Yes, he has two eyes, a nose and a mouth ...

    Even Morrissey tuned in.

but he's no longer in the smiths...life has improved. so has his body..

i couldn't handle a big house. i don't know where half of my stuff is and i live in a one bedroom.

    is he still taking them?

That was a tamborine that he caught in the "Pregnant For the Last Time" video.

You would enjoy living in a prison cell.

From what I gather, yes and it looks like he's taking too much of them.

    > well, that doesn't do me any good.

That dog looked depressed, and Morrissey seemed to be comforting it.
he should give that dog a bit of his drugs.

    I couldn't tell.

I'm glad, that Mike Joyce story is so old and it goes on.
