they think its offensive. i don't. so its kinda crazy that they toss it around like that. not like they're hurting my feelings any.

its where i've been all this time. i might give it up for Berkeley (San Francisco) or Paris or a farmhouse in vermont if i had the means to do it, however...i found my niche.

So you personally know someone who got expelled from kindergarten?
He's got to be one disturbed individual. Or is that the kindergartner we're

So how are the negotiations going? Who's your sidekick?

I think that if you'd give people anarchy for only one day,
they'd get bored. It's the thought of having what you don't have,
    that thrills people.

it was a private kindergarten, and it was in my sister's class. they had this boy who was a real troublemaker and had boots with real spurs on the back of them that he wore to school.

    > It can still be a hoax, who knows.

its a mass conspiracy to draw boz out of his lair to refute another rumor.

    > You're gonna be a star! or a box.

which will be even more amazing since i can't draw and i don't have film equipment, but why should i let that stop me? maybe i could just pass the script out to the audience and let them imagine it.

i am my own sidekick. my show airs via two tin cans and a string to the cats outside.

    it worked for iraq.

He wanted to ride his fellow students. What's wrong with that?

    > its a mass conspiracy to draw boz out of his lair to refute another rumor.

It's one of his duties as a mail delivery boy.

Put it on the web, maybe Steven Spielberg would see it and make it into
a movie. ET and Jaws aren't exactly masterpieces.
    Toy Story was though.

Your neighbors have good reception, I bet.

Exactly, the thought of having a new dictator, thrills them and keeps
    them going.

I bet Malcolm in the middle is actually funny in Spanish.

What forms of torture were you submitted to?

Does your boss know about this?
After reading your journal I have to say I'm amazed that people
and not computers do the timelines for the shows and adverts/promos.
    Seems ridiculous to me.

    > its not science fiction!

it's actually really a romantic comedy.
Any comedy which revolves around the exclusive relations between
a boy and a girl, qualifies as such in my book.

    > well, if love did happen in it, i suppose that would also qualify as
    > sci-fi.

aren't we pessimistic. If you don't give them a happy ending,
it just won't sell. That's Americans for ya.

    > i'd want to live long enough to see a second movie come out???

    now that's science fiction.
As you've described in your journal, people would go to see any movie.
It's just the amounts of people that change.
Going to the movies is a social thing.
I don't see a point in it really. You can't talk to other people
while watching, so although it's social, it's really isn't.

    > he doesn't want to be conspicuous.

so is "I tried and I failed" or "I didn't try" or "Excuse me, I know my limits".

I got to your bio page, through one of your comments.

Anyway, read your journal and realized you were serious about
    all that screen play business.

I hate movies that can be summed up in two short sentences and
usually hate movies that revolve around one nice, but basic idea,
which should have remained as such.

Not many people here read the journals, so from the few who do,
I think you'll receive constructive criticism.

It seems to me that a lot of people in that business are
Smiths/Morrissey fans, but I don't know if they frequent this site.

I always thought people who want to succeed in this business,
move to Hollywood and not San Francisco.

I also feel, you should write about something you have vast knowledge
about and personal experience, but what do I know, I write this with no
    knowledge or experience.

    > yeah right. sueing moz would be the quickest way for me to write my own
    > ticket to the funny farm.

    > "right...so did morrissey do this by sending invisible brain waves to
    > you...?"

"He made me feel comfortable with what I am and that's a crime."
There was a nice article, which perfectly articulated the damage Morrissey has inflicted on many young people's lives.

    > nope. i was more of a liability than an asset as a kid.

    Bad investment?
Well and now as an adult, have things really changed?

    > i'll live, i suppose, but then again, its still probably going to take me

its a combination of both. the computer places things, but ultimately, somebody has to go in behind it and space things out. also, the system we have doesn't actually go in and time out the shows itself. someone has to type that stuff in.

what about a girl between two boys?

that's perfect for me. i hate people, and i run out of things to say very quickly. i even enjoy going to movies by myself.

however, the art of making movies is not really that easy. sure, they say that there is a dirth of material out there to film, but the way its done is guaranteed to chew people up and spit them out.

i didn't spend too much time worrying about my screenplay. i figure that if someone buys it, it will be rewritten several times anyhow because that's standard.

    > Yeah, a gigantic beast roaming the streets of New York, who'd notice?

maybe in LA, but not in NYC.

    > so is "I tried and I failed" or "I didn't try" or
    > "Excuse me, I know my limits".

a little bit of choices A and C. well, at least back in the days when i was doing music stuff. it became apparent after a few years that i wasn't really anything special.

however, i never gave a full crack at screenwriting, novel writing, or journalism (which i've scratched off my list pre-emptively). so for this other stuff, i'm not exactly sure what i'm capable of yet.

    > Anyway, read your journal and realized you were serious about

not really too serious. i did it just to do it. i might write another one or i might just forego it and write books.

that would be a complete faerie tale ending if one of them showed up waving a contract, but as i've tended to notice about how things play out around here, and watching how people lift ideas for articles from things that are posted here, they'd probably just hijack the idea for themselves and that would be the last i'd see of it.

    > I always thought people who want to succeed in this business,
    > move to Hollywood and not San Francisco.

i don't want to move to san francisco to be a successful anything, although i can't ever seriously consider moving there unless something else has changed like if i came into money, or there was some really cool and lucrative opportunity that would be a once in a lifetime thing.

anyhow, stephen king has managed to live in New England for his entire career.

things never change. i discovered that this weekend.

Are we in the 80s? I bet you aren't working for a modern TV station.

It won't work, it's still a romantic comedy.

I find it hard to believe you run out of things to say very quickly,
but the rest I can believe in.

    > however, the art of making movies is not really that easy. sure, they say

There is a lot of material out there, but it usually isn't very good.
Look at the movies that come out. These are the prime screenplays that
get picked and filmed, how many of them are really any good?

    > i didn't spend too much time worrying about my screenplay. i figure that

Yes, they would have to stick some aliens in there.

Many people out there aren't special musicians, but that doesn't seem to stop 'em. although it should have.

Nobody reads books nowadays, just screenplays.

I think it would be a great honor, if someone stole your idea and made a movie out of it.

That's good. I believe one should know a bit of everything, so one can
fool most people in casual conversation. That's pretty much all you need
    in modern life.

    > *cough*

Oh, things change, just not for the better.

I just moved to DSL, so it won't take me eons.
Don't you have a fast connection at work?
As you work at a TV station can't you just ask Channel 4 to send you a tape.

I guess the Uni can take pride in some of these people and be very ashamed of others.

yeah i sit there like a lump. even if i do have something to say, i have to fight to say about 1/4 of it.

    > There is a lot of material out there, but it usually isn't very good.
    > Look at the movies that come out. These are the prime screenplays that

that's the thing. you really don't know. someone could have written a great one, but some producer might say, "this needs a comic relief character" or "Julia roberts wants this character to be a zoo keeper" or "its a good idea, but its not funny enough" any thing else you can imagine, and so they hunt down other writers and have them redo it.

    > Yes, they would have to stick some aliens in there.

some might actually get somewhere, but others tend to fall to the wayside. either way, i think i really lack the drive and the pushiness to succeed....well, that's very obvious these days because i haven't even played an open mic night in over 3 years.

    > Nobody reads books nowadays, just screenplays.

that's what JK Rowling said, huh?

    > I think it would be a great honor, if someone stole your idea and made a

yeah, it would be a "great honor" when you realize that nobody knows that you did it and you can't say, "i did this" without people thinking you're a paranoid and delusional lunatic.

    > I don't really like him or his writing.

yeah, but he has a career.

i personally don't have an internet connection at my desk. there is one computer in the room that has it, and i can just see someone else sitting down to use it with this downloading.

    > As you work at a TV station can't you just ask Channel 4 to send you a

i'm not in the news department...

oh i thought you just wanted to know who came from the state of texas...well, most of those people went to UT except for Ross Perot.

You can go see The Smiths perform.

That's the cinema for you. Sitting in front of the TV with somebody,
on the other hand, can actually be enjoyable.

    > that's the thing. you really don't know. someone could have written a

I somehow find it hard to believe.
If you have something good in your hands, it would in the end, come to light,
the same way it is with music.
Changing a character or the story line is part of the creative process.

    > some might actually get somewhere, but others tend to fall to the wayside.

Well, playing the clarinet has hardly made someone a huge pop star or an idolized musician.
So you shouldn't be too disappointed with yourself.

    > that's what JK Rowling said, huh?

I really don't get this phenomena.
However kids will buy anything you throw at them, as you've explained
    with the Snow Dogs movie.
Harry Potter's success could be explained, by the fact there was a lack
of heroes for children in the last decade.

    > yeah, it would be a "great honor" when you realize that nobody
    > knows that you did it and you can't say, "i did this" without
    > people thinking you're a paranoid and delusional lunatic.

Well, it wouldn't make much of a change to people's perception of me,
so I don't really care what they'll say.

    > yeah, but he has a career.

Horror books or movies are just not my taste.
I find it hard to understand why someone wants and enjoys being
    scared and stressed out.
I have enough of that in my life.
Life is always more frightening than fiction.
The same is with hot spices - it really isn't a flavor, it's just
a weird sensation in your mouth, I hate it.

    > i personally don't have an internet connection at my desk. there is one

Are you ashamed of being a Morrissey fan?

So you can download it at home.
If you have a dial up connection, there's a smaller version to download.

    > i'm not in the news department...

    Morrisesy is hardly news.
Just send them an official paper, I'm sure they won't give it much thought.

    > oh i thought you just wanted to know who came from the state of

a different type of enjoyment...and i suppose it depends on how much you like them

yeah, but you see...they usually don't go back to the original writer and ask them to change things. they always go to someone else.

i like that sort of stuff. not stephen king per se, but i think i like it better as a movie.

its like being an alcoholic and hiding the liquor bottle

as i said, it will still take an eon. it took about 10-15 minutes for the :30 clips on the bbc website, so i suppose this would take all night.

the problem is that i'm not adventurous enough to lie like that.

actually, i attended the same community college that he did.
