I know it's a little typical of a Morrissey fan, but my interest in the British Film industry started with Carry Ons and St Trinians and progressed from there. You can keep Russell Crowe, George Clooney and Brad Pit. Give me Barry Evans, Murray Head and Tom Courtenay anytime.

1) 'Billy Liar!'
2) 'Up The Junction'
3) 'A Taste Of Honey'
4) 'Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush'
5) 'The Family Way'

Modern film stars are crap it'e true. I find Russell Crowe about as threatening as a pack of Rainbows..

Good list though.
Personally I love " The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner" and "The Blue Lamp".

Hmmmm - interesting similie.
Russell Crowe is monumentally crap. He's a New Zealander too, so we take no responsibility whatsoever for his existance. But he was good once.
If you want to see him be truly threatening - see his fantastic performance as a skinhead leader in "Romper Stomper".

Fair point. It's a great film.He's still a wanker:)

why do girls think he's hot? i don't get it. and it's seriously not fair that i have to question my sexual orientation because i don't find all of these unintelligent, untalented, generally unattractive guys sexy (i.e. freddy prinze jr., eminem, r.c., brad pitt, any of the losers from friends...i could go on for days).

I know it's going over old Mozzer ground, but what about 'A Taste Of Honey', Saturday Night, Sunday Morning', and "Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner'.
Not forgetting 'Kes' of course.

Nowadays it's gotta have Steve Buscemi or maybe my mate (it's a long story) Thora Birch. I'm thinking 'Fargo', 'Trees Lounge', and 'Ghostworld'.
From the past 30 years, 'Blue Velvet', 'The Long Good Friday' (uncut and un-f***ed-about-with), the early Jonathan Demme one, 'Something Wild', and maybe 'Deliverance' along with a few European ones.
The Euro ones - The Vanishing, Jamon Jamon, Au Revoir Les Enfants, Delicatessen, and erm....a few others.

My tuppence worth.

Oh, how I agree. The media has told the stupid public that these talentless whores are attractive. Let's face it, the people who say they will faint at the feet of George Clooney, will have forgotten him in a few years when glossy mags inform them who to swoon over next. Bah!

Actually, could someone please tell me who Freddy Prinze (?!) Jr is?

Hooray!!!

"Yah yah yah"
That was supposed to be a Sid James laugh, btw.

Three Cheers For Our Side, eh TMF?

I believe that's another band we like...

This is my ideal world

Now we're talking!

1. Billy Liar
2. A Taste of Honey
3. I'm Alright Jack
4. Saturday Night and Sunday Morning
5. The Ladykillers

Nice.

Heh heh! If you going to the S&G in a few weeks, I'll buy you one. Do you like Aztec Camera too?

Re: This is my ideal world

I recently managed to get hold of 'Sparrows Can't Sing' on amazon after about 6 years of trying to track down a copy. There are so many I want to see, some have never been out on video, others have long since been deleted.
'The Beauty Jungle'
'The World Ten Times over'
'Live Now, Pay Later'
'Some People'
'Cathy Come Home'

I like "High Land, Hard Rain" very much but that's the only one I've got.

TMF

Incidentally, if anyone has any of these

Re: Sychophantic slags

freddie prinze was the guy from "chico and the man." he killed himself when his son was just a baby. anyway, junior has starred in such magical movies as "she's all that," "scooby doo," and "i know what you did last summer." he's married to sarah michelle gellar -- another person whom no one would think was especially gorgeous if not for the media's shoving her down our collective throats.

here's a picture of him at his ugliest:

HEY, I liked "she's all that". Scooby Doo was one of the few movies we walked out on.
