chris is a friend of mine and i assure you that morrissey is no passing fancy of his. due to circumstances beyond his control, the site went down. rather than scrap it altogether, he has decided to keep it going but with a new format and with different content. under the circumstances and considering all the harassment and unfair criticism he has received, i don't blame him one bit.

Another sad case of the "I ENVY CHRIS" virus. You should be ashamed of yourself. AO was one of the most active Morrissey sites of the last 2 years. Heck even people on this board started to praise Chris everytime he released something new to the crowd. May I remind you that AO was the first to release the new material of this tour, numerous Miraval sessions demos, along with the unreleased Moz version of "Please Help the Cause Against Loneliness". Other than that they had monthly contests and the mp3s were abundant. Now look, ever since AO has gone away (at least the Moz part of it) things have been very very boring online. Anyone agree? If you think that Chris and Moz was just a passing fancy, put yourself in Chris' shoes. Would you want to continue with a site when people like yourself are always breathing down your neck?

My guess: Chris found me, a Boyfriend and his subliminal longing for a male partner does not require morrissey outlet anymore... i'm happy for him, and for myself too... Now me and Chris are all into fire island roundtrip tickets, s&m, kylie minogue & cher worship and stuff. Under my supervision, chris sold all his morrissey cd for 10 bucks at melrose ave. music shack. he finally saw the light, will all of you, nudnicks?

and finally... i had the chance to speak to someone who was pretty close to chris, and they told me this track was given YET AGAIN for him to keep. They had trusted him not to let it out. but once he had it in his posession he began giving it to traders, friends, etc. so once all this was achieved, he released it, saying some person again anonymously gave it to him.

Other than that they had monthly contests and the mp3s were abundant.

contests were so so... mp3s were ok, i mean who wouldn't want to get free shows right?

isn't that how a lot of stuff gets leaked? someone gets something they aren't supposed to have and it gets out. you seem to be trying to make two points here, but they contradict each other. 1) he shouldn't have shared them and 2) he selfishly kept them until he really needed to put something new on the site and even then, he was too slow in sharing 'em. which is it? should he have kept them to himself or should he have shared them faster? as for the claim that they were given to him anonymously, doesn't it make sense that he would say that to keep his sources secret? it's done all the time.

yes, he pretty much pestered the fan with the tracks. numerous phone calls to his house, numerous emails. and i mean NUMEROUS. i personally know the fan who gave him the tracks, you on the other hand DON'T, so you have no clue. this fan is a hard person to get a hold of, since he rarely uses the internet, let alone check his email, and/or is never home because of his work. so again, you have nothing else to say about that.

i was just going off what you said: " he kept these tracks for quite a while until his website was in desperate need of something new, so he began to release them slowly and gradually." the implication i got from that statement was that he was releasing them, in the first place, because he needed something new on the site to attract visitors and that he was dragging it out in order to force people to come back. sorry if that's not what you meant, but it's what your statement suggested.
