    Default I Smell a Rat

How would readers of this boards feel if I said there was a regular contributor on this message board who worked as a journalist for NME at the height of it's Moz bashing campaign? This is not a joke. The said regular of Morrissey Solo actually wrote for the rag for 6 years and although he has once or twice alluded that he DID in fact work as a journalist(and still does)he never mentioned who he worked for.

It was by luck I stumbled across this info when I hapened to be on a course in London with an ex colleague of his.

Any ideas ? Although keeping his first name he hid behind the rather dull smokescreen(no pun intended)of a surname of Cigarretes.

He is alive and in the Scotalnd area and if he does not get on here in the next 48 hours and explain I will tell the whole story.

The very one.Reading through the threads on here I think you were chatting to him recently.
From what I heard even at NME he never said a word against Moz. I just find it amazing that he has never owned up.

The NME means very little to me.

Ha ha! Nice one Kasule.I'm afraid you have me stumped as to who this mystery person could be. I DO have to say though your post is incorrect on one or two points.Hopefully the person you are referring to will come on here and clear those points up.
As for the whole NME/MOZ love/hate relationship it has been covered extensively on these pages over the years.
What I can say is that there has never been an artist in the history of NME(which believe it or not has been a VERY influential paper over the years)who has received more column inches than Moz.
Until the racist storm broke The Smiths and NME were a marriage made in heaven.
Off the top of my head I think The Smiths had more NME front covers than any other artist in the history of the paper.

Perhaps Johhny Fag Ash or whoever can clear this up for us
