Browsing in the book shop today I saw they have copies of a new biog. of Mick Ronson. There a couple of pages describing the production of 'Your Arsenal', making much of the critical acclaim it had (really?) and a para or two about how Bowie thought 'I Know It's Gonna Happen' was a flattering spoof of his own 'Rock'n Roll Suicide'. So the egotist Bowie thought he'd cover Morrissey's song which he believed to be a cover of himself (if that makes sense). Apparently Morrissey mentioned in an interview that the end of the song does sound like Bowie's song though he says it wasn't consiously taken or borrowed.
The book mentions that Ronson must have played on the album although acknowledges that he's not credited.
PS the publishers (Independent Music Press) also publish 'Scooter Boys' (Fatty) and a book about Dr Marten's boots!
