    Default dolly parton rumor

i was talking to my old boss (stopped by the baby gap to say hi to my friend) and mentioned that i'd gone to see a smiths and morrissey tribute band (SATH) last night. anyway, he started telling me about his friend from college who LOVED morrissey and because of her, he knew a lot of his songs (but didn't really like them that much). he said that he went to a benefit concert in 1999 and dolly parton did a cover of a morrissey song. does anyone know if there's any truth to this and if so, which song was it?

Can anyone remember the philosophical words of wisdom attributed to Dolly by David Brent in the Office?? And he ended with ,
"...and people say she's just a pair of tits".
I can't remember what it was but I do remember ROTFLMAO.

“Life is just a series of peaks and troughs. And you don’t know whether you’re in a trough until you’re climbing out, or on a peak until you’re coming down. And that’s it you know, you never know what’s round the corner. But it’s all good. ‘If you want the rainbow, you’ve gotta put up with the rain.’ Do you know which philosopher said that? Dolly Parton. And people say she’s just a big pair of tits.”

    Audience: HOW HOT WAS IT?

Carson: It's been so hot that Don Rickles was spotted standing beneath Dolly Parton for shade...

Ho ho. God bless our parents' and grandparents' humor.

    Cheers,

    that one actually seems familiar.

not to completely change topics, but i still remember his mcdonald's joke.

"today, mcdonald's announced they have sold their billionth hamburger. i guess this means its time for them to go out and buy another cow"

What's great about Dolly is that she freely admits how 'tacky' she is always honest about who she is, there is a big heart behind those big knockers!

you're right. dolly parton is a really nice person. some friends of my grandparents were taken under her wing (due to an illness in the family and some other economic hardships -- they were longtime fans). she really is very sweet. therefore, i forgive the tackiness.

So I wonder if she really did sing a Morrissey song?
I can imagine a version of 'Everyday is like Sunday'

Any more info. You sure it wasn't a song by 'Bill Morrisey'? Would seem a bit more likely. Whilst wer're talking Country I'm gonna play ma new-to-me Skeeter Davis record.
