The Smiths Is Dead is a remake of The Queen Is Dead and (if I can remember of the top of my head) the tracklisting/artists are:
The Queen Is Dead (The Boo Radleys)- very weird, trancey, ultimately shit
Frankly Mr Shankly (High Llamas??) - Same as original but slower
Never Had Noone Ever (Trashcan Sinatras) - shit
Never Had noone ever (billy Bragg) - not too bad actually
Cemetry Gates (Frank & Walters) - One of the better ones in my opinion
Bigmouth Strikes Again (Placebo!!!) - EVIL.
The Boy With A Thorn In His Side (Bis) - This must have been a joke.
Vicar In A Tutu (Therapy?) - Quite funny actually
There Is A Light.. (Divine Comedy) - Not as good as I was expecting
Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others (Supergrass) - Funny but a bit shit.
I would have thought it'd be easy to find.
> It is called "The Smiths Is Dead" on Small records, France in
> 1996 and Sony Japan. Issued by a French magazine called Les
> Inrockuptibles. It is not hard to find, but im my experience people charge
