Reading the posts and comments on this site and from speaking to fellow apostles of Morrissey, I am suprised I am the only person to have called The Duty officer at Granada on 01618327211 to complain about this broadcast...or don't you care?

you winging twat. No one else complained because maybe they appreciate ANY programme relating to the smiths and to be honest, it was not too good, but better than anything, and certainly better than anything YOU have ever offered this board, f*** off you miserable little f***er.

I agree, well said.

I agree. i was truly disappointed with the slagging off Granada got. I actually enjoyed the show. the original bass guiatarist bit was excellent. but what else could Morrissey devotees on here get that would satisfy them? we know it all dont we? so what was shown may introduce new fans whilst satisfying existing fans like myself and others.
If a complaint that Morrissey didnt appear that is Morrissey's fault not the producers. Whilst i dont think he should appear on every TV show etc, it would have been nice for him (and his fans) to appear on this one - maybe he realises he would have been asked about the court case and lets face it, his treatment of Mike Joyce is disgraceful. i love the Man, but cant be blind to his appalling behaviour on that issue. Mike and Andy came over well on the show, not bitter or twisted as others have said on this board.
I though Rogan had too much air time whilst the other two authors filmed had little snipets here and there, which seemed rushed.
But an excellent effort i thought.

What About Marr

No-one seems to mention the fact that Johnny Marr had nothing to do with the programme either - Morrissey appeared in the show as much as he did.

I was also surprised that Mike Joyce did not take the opportunity to air much of the demo and rehersal material he is custodian of. Why does he not attempt to release any of it? Has he?

I find it astonishing that so many people rush to damn Johnny Rogan's work which is nothing if not exhaustive and if it were not for his dedication to his subject the vast majority of latter day Smiths fans would have very little to refer to other than the recordings.

If you want to disagree with his opinions then that's fine but there is a vast resource of historical fact there.

He intended to post three or four outtakes on his website months (a year?) ago, but scuppered them at the eleventh hour. He made allusions to threats of legal action, probably by Morrissey or Marr, perhaps both.

Cheers,

I don't hide my contributions under names like 'some people.' If you are satisfied with ANY programme, well fine for you. I guess it's the same for your sex life. Amateur, unbalanced shoddy emissions like 'These things take time,' I would rather not have.

If I was going to watch a pornographic programme, I would expect to get a hard-on. This programme was not the biography of The Smiths it billed itself as.

It's on the Links Page
