Lee Tamahori, director of the new James Bond movie is courting Morrissey to record the theme tune for the film to be released before Christmas 2002. Said Tamahori : "I was played a recording of 'Irish Blood, English Heart' and knew instantly that this was the theme we need. I will need to change some of the lyrics of course, but the atmosphere this tune has is entirely appropriate."

Morrissey was unavailable for commment, however a member of his entourage said "I don't think this is true - but then again Morrissey WAS using the classic James Bond theme before his concerts in 1999. I'm sure Morrissey would be honoured to record the theme. I guess you'll have to wait and see."

Artists who have recorded James Bond themes include Morrissey favourite Shirley Bassey, although Sheena Easton and A-Ha have too.

Yes, this is very likely to happen. I lie a lot.

The new bond movie is finished and the score/title track done.
