If Waylon Jennings wasn't already dead, I'd be predicting his imminent demise.

What Moz should really be playing is 'Work is a Four Letter Word'.. Now that'd be worth anything..
Next stop ENG-land, have stranger things happened?

So he stayed at the Hotel Del. I was wonderin'. They're weak on vegan options. So, after the show you followed the van to find out where they were staying? Maybe Moz likes it because it's haunted.

Apologies to those who read this in its own thread a few days ago, but I thought I would repost in the context of this conversation since He actually played "Are You Sure Hank Done It this Way" this time:

Band gives clue as to why The Smiths were dropped from 8/21 San Diego set list

Two friends and I were chatting in front of the Hotel del Coronado after the 8/21 San Diego show when we were surprised to see the band drive up in a black Mercedes Sprinter van. Matt, Gustavo, Mando, and Jesse got out along with a crew member or two (no Moz, no Boz). We thanked them for a great show and they were very kind and appreciative. We asked why Meat Is Murder wasn't played and the crew member added "...and no Smiths!", to which Matt smiled and replied "the clue is in the set list". Well, the set list as posted on www.setlist.fm includes the title Are You Sure Hank is combined with Everyday Is Like Sunday. Here are the opening lyrics to Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way by Waylon Jennings:

Lord it's the same old tune, fiddle and guitar
Where do we take it from here?
Rhinestone suits and new shiny cars
It's been the same way for years
We need to change

Fun anecdote for us so we thought we'd share. Hope you enjoyed the show and are doing well.

Check out Alma Mozzers on Facebook.

What was Boz playing during "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way"? The video shows him (very briefly) bashing away on something. Steel guitar? Xylophone?

well he for sure does have an attachment to buildings and there history. the first time i saw him i thought to myself why the hell is he playing here and he mentioned spending the day looking at buildings wilde had spent or did time in which made sense to me.

No indication that Moz/Boz stayed there too, but no reason to doubt it either. We didn't follow the van. My friends were staying at the hotel and I drove them back after the show and we chatted in front for a couple of hours. The band happened to show up some time around midnight.

f*** Waylon, go straight to Hank plz kthx. (It's only four notes easypeasy.)

It appears Benny-the-British-Butcher needs attention to validate his pitiful life? The Stage is yours Bitch.!Let's continue centering all the threads on you.

I was there too. Guess I missed them. Spent the day after the show there at the beach bar

Ganglord is becoming a great staple of his set. He really needs to drop Meat Murder, at least the vid. Any casual Morrissey fan gets it by now. I am done with Morrissey till he comes round my way in another 24 months unless I make the trip to Ply Mouth with some other good looking Americans with teeth and re-enact the sailing of the Mayflower. Anonymous-

Of all the songs he could have covered, he chose this one? Really?

dunno if it's me, but it's worst cover song he ever did, clicked away after a minute and some seconds.

indeed He could've chosen a better one

'and they say he's mentall'... would've like to hear Him sing Elvis Presley's 'Marie's the name of his latest flame' in whole,
so many other choices, even YMCA would be great compared to this...

Having read your comments on this site for a while now, I've come to the conclusion you basically don't like anyone who lives more than 10 miles from wherever it is you take a dump first thing in the morning.

yeah agreed though i guess it could be some sort of sampler. steel pedal from every time ive ever seen it played you tend to be sitting with it more in your lap

Can't see clearly - is it the QChord? (ie the thing Boz plays on stage during 'I'm Not a Man'?)

I would love Morrissey to go down the country route - hopefully we will see more of this on the forthcoming UK tour. I know he bought a whole stack of them for a bulk buy discount, but those Star Trek shirts are getting really stale, so fingers crossed he will rock up to Hull wearing a Stetson, spurs, and cheekless pleather pants. Maybe go the whole hog and have the band dress up as native Americans?

Is that a Kryptonite necklace I see Moz wearing? He needs to get rid of it quick before it saps his energy.
