rose garden was written and originally released by the late great joe south.

the blue flower society are first class nutters. there are but one or two members of that gayish 'organization.' they are highly annoying.

Used to think Moz doing a covers album would be kind of lame, now I want it, and in fact make it a double album!

Oh i must get the London tics. I want so badly to shake his hand. To look into his beady blue eyes and just give him the biggest smile i have every given anyone. Does anyone have a tip on the best way to get him to shake your hand.
I want My tiny little hand to fit perfectly into his long elegant fingers

I beg your pardon I never promised you a meat free Madison Square Garden
Along with the cheese there's gotta be a little sushi sometime
When you take you gotta give so live and let live and let go oh oh oh oh
I beg your pardon I never promised you a Meat free Square Garden

I could promise you things like tofu and soya
But you don't find roses growin' on stalks of clover
So you better think it over
Well, if sweet talking you could make it come true
I would give you world peace free on a silver platter
But what would it matter
So smile for a while and let's be jolly meat free doesn't mean cheese melancholy
I'm not as animal friendly as you think I am

I beg your pardon I never promised you no meat at the garden
Along with the sunshine there's gotta be a little rain sometime
I beg your pardon I never promised you no fish at Madison Square Garden

So smile for a while and I'll sing meat is murder
On the way home have a 12oz cheeseburger
Or share a K F C bucket while we can

I beg your pardon I never said I was a vegan
So what if I take milk in my tea
Once you've tasted it you want it so live and let live and go oh oh oh oh

So thirty three years eating cheese is a long time
I'll sing meat is murder if you want me to
On the way home a crafty big Ma a a a c.

Unbelievable. I remember this song when I was a wee Mozmic.

I couldn't have been more surprized if he came out with Minnie Pearl's hat on and let out a big ol' HOUUUUUDDDDDYYYYYYYY!
I think that's really sweet keeping in mind that the concert had to be postponed.

Tell me Peter (or anyone) I have a vague understanding of this Blue Rose nonsense but I don't quite get the animosity. It seems as though many regulars here really dislike the Blue Rose folks. Clearly they are deluded but where did the animosity spring from? This is the lot that claims that Morrissey is in direct contact with them? Or something similar? Did they claim it was him writing that blog? I have always wondered a little bit about it but have never really looked into it. I suspect the choice of opening song will send them off again. I guess Kewpie will probably post a link.

I think people just find their delusion a bit tiresome so that in turn leads to some getting a bit aggressive. Me personally, I just find it funny. The animosity just makes it even more hilarious! Especially from a moderator, too!

What's that got to do with it? Clearly I'm not a paragon, and I can say and do what I like just like any other user. So bollocks to it all.

LOL i never promised a pork and onion brisket. well done, benny.

they disrespected skinny over at that stupid 'blue rose blog'. its just a few nutters insulting each other back and forth over the not giving moz the blue flower. total twats.

Really enjoyed that. When he got to the chorus part, I instantly recognized it. Couldn't place it right away, then it hit me that it was the chorus sampled in Kon Kan's "I beg your pardon". Been hearing that song for years and had no idea where it came from.

Of course this is true.

It's just a bit strange, though. I guess people see website moderators as the very people who don't act / use language like this on ... yes ... the very page they are moderating.

All the best.

Thank you for capturing this moment. That was beautiful. I love when he goes off script. He understands his audience and how to set the tone for the show. Who gives a better live performance than Morrissey ?

Bruce Springsteen.

I have to say Benny, you are true to your convictions, I'll give it that. Clever, do you have a stack of Morrissey lyrics:crankfraud edition at home, or is it all just spontaneous. How does the creative mind of Benny work :lbf:

Oh i really hope you and Morrissey meet someday. It will be hilarious :)

There's a shitty Brazilian cover of this song (Rose garden) done by a group of girls from a popular TV show.

Watch and cry
