Is there a blur thread? No, if so lets start one.

In this article from NME, we get to see Blurs first New York performance in 15 years at Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg.

Blur: some might call them Mockney private-school c***s. But to me they are schoolboy-chic and fecking brilliant!

They're hardly street urchins, but only the bass player out of Blur went to private school.

No i did not mean that they actually went to private school but that some people think they act like they went to private school

Did anyone else get highly amused just thinking how Stewie Griffin would pronounce the title of their new album??? :D

hm. 'k.

yeah; although, more like..."the magic uhip"

(That word is really f. hard to mispronounce for a foreigner, I've tried dozens of times!! makes me rofl.)

new album is awesome.

not Blur, but Electric Wave Bureau has bits of Damon in it, and you can tell from first listen. With a stretch of the old imagination "Colours", that lovely tune, has Damon going almost Johnnymarring in places. Aaaaah, noice!

Cool soundtrack to "Broken", a film that should make you cry a bit. Or like a big freaking baby.

Hmm...I wouldn't say awesome, sadly. It's good, but not the Blur I expected. I have been a fan since '91 and I adore Damon Albarn. Love him to pieces, really. I met him about a year ago and he's just a lovely person all around, but for the life of me, I just can't get used to this new album. It sounds too much like Damon's solo work - which is most definitely awesome - but not meant to be Blur material. As odd as it sounds, there really is a difference.

You meet damon. Oh you lucky shrimp. Where? Could you tell me about the meeting?

I bet he is a super sweetie, he has the most heart warming face.

I"ll never sleep again

for Tynamuna,

"This weekend at Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Damon Albarn performed a 5-hour set with the Africa Express Project that included a cover of the Clash's "Should I Stay Or Should I Go", which he performed with Songhoy Blues, Nick Zinner, Jeff Wooten, and Seye Adeklan. Watch video below.
After the marathon set (which ended around 4 AM), Albarn was told he had to stop, so he encouraged the audience to keep cheering so that he could continue to perform. The crowd obliged to such an extent that security came out and literally carried Albarn off stage. Watch video and other select performances from the show below.
Africa Express is an organization that brings together musicians from multiple cultures, continents, and genres. They've put on concerts in Europe and Africa, and have released a series of recorded projects, including Terry Riley's In C Mali and a corresponding film about the making of the album that featured Damon Albarn, Brian Eno, and Nick Zinner.
