Two days ago The Black Cap in Camden where Mrs Shufflewick performed shut down.

BBC London Radio Robert Elms show is discussing about London gay scene / drag venues.

You can listen online http://bbc.co.uk/bbclondon

Good God. Never dared going in there...Didn't know any gay man at the time...

I found the name alone very intimidating. Apparently not so, as it just had to do with a witch, but I pictured heavy Tom of Finland stuff going on inside then...

Maybe it was hetero-friendlier than it looked, like Morrissey?

"Oh, Ha. Ha. HA."

Maybe we should salute the Black Cap memory? Maybe with

"The Black Cap is dead, long live the Black Clap!"

(Yeah I know they would have loved me there... :( )

I am trying to listen to this programme but I find the introduction very long and unnerving (could someone stop fiddling with that eerie music button ffs, this is radio, dudes!). I had the time for 3 costume changes at the Vauxhall Tavern, and I don't even know where it is.
