So many great tunes in these lists. Just proves that the 80s wasn't that bad - Simple Minds, Cure, Smiths, New Order...The list goes on...It's really hard to choose but here's mine:

Simple Minds - Someone, Somewhere (in Summertime) - the true magnificence of this band's early years is finally getting the right attention these years.
New Order - Blue Monday - the 12" instrumental went on heavy rotation night after night in my teens.
The Cult - She Sells santuary - Goth going pop!
The Cure - A forest - just great.
Fields of the nephilim - Moonchild - this band emerged after the first wave of Goth bands and remained one of the best.
The Mission - Tower of strenght - The build up of the tune is Zeppelin worthy
U2 - Pride - people hate them these days, but The unforgettable fire was seminal.
The Smiths - This charming man - The Beatles of my generation!
