Does this mean that the Ink Spots aren't eligible? Just kidding:). I like the Ink Spots though, they were my Grandma's favorite musical group.

The Ink Spots.

Here's my personal Top Ten favorites (in numerical order)....

#1, my favorite) Morrissey

#2) The Smashing Pumpkins

#3) Morcheeba

#4) The Smiths

#5) Echobelly. I also include a lot of the beautiful calm of zero songs that Sonya & Glenn have created. Songs such as "Something That Remains," "Silence on the Radio," "Reign On," and "Faces in the Mirror." Beautiful songs all! (Unfortunately, YouTube doesn't offer any of the studio versions, so I can't post any of these wonderful songs.)

Sonya & Glenn.

#6) Ice-T, the rap artist. Thanks Ice-T, your music literally saved my life for an entire year, and I'll never, ever forget that. (I don't like his hard rock group Body Count very much though. I like maybe two of their songs.) If anyone wants to read a wonderful, and starkly honest autobiography, then please read this one....

Ice-T autobiography..png

#7) Elton John. Thanks, Elton. Your beautiful music, along with Bernie and Tim's beautiful lyrics, have always brought peace and joy to me, throughout the decades. Always.

#8) Siouxsie & the Banshees

#9) The Cure. I've hardly posted any of their magnificent songs on Morrissey-Solo. Here's my favorite song by them.....

"A Forest" by The Cure

-a masterpiece.

#10) Neil Young (solo, with Crazy Horse, with C,S,N, & Y, etc.)

Here's my other fifteen favorite musical artists of all-time. They aren't in numerical order; they are instead in alphabetical order (iTunes alphabetical order) ....

....I have to go to a fantasy football draft, that I frankly want no part of. More info coming soon.....

p.s. i also didnt include the solo artists. i.e people billed under there own name but still with a band line lou reed (berlin), david bowie (aladinsane), iggy pop (kill city), costello (my aim is true), gram parsons (grievous angel), so many bob dyan albums, so many donovon albums, so many cat stevens albums, so many nick drake albums (ok not so many), sam cooke (night beat), paul westerberg(14 songs), richard hell etc etc etc. i feel like thats another list and you asked for bands.

I'm going to attempt this later when I get on the computer. I'm going to steal Chickpea's idea and do it alphabetically.

I couldn't agree more, and I've only heard two of their songs. However, this Phenomenal song & video take them over the top for me. Stoned posted it in the "What Are You Listening to Now" thread five or six months ago, it was the first time I ever heard the song or saw the video.

^^^^ Great list!!:)

I never finished my list so I guess I'll finish it now. (My Top Ten are up above.)

-From 11 to 35 (not in numerical order, but in iTunes style alphabetical order)...

* 10,000 Maniacs

"Like the Weather" by 10,000 Maniacs

-Absolutely beautiful.

* The B-52's

* B.B. King

* The Beau Brummels

"Magic Hollow" by The Beau Brummels

-Stunning. The first 1:26 of this song is incredibly beautiful, and then starting at 1:27, it becomes even ten times more beautiful.

* Billy Joel

* Chic. Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards are one of the very best songwriting teams of all-time. They wrote and composed dozens of tremendous Chic songs. They wrote and composed all of Sister Sledge's best songs ( "He's the Greatest Dancer," "Thinking of You," "Lost in Music," and the number one smash, "We Are Family.") They wrote and composed the phenomenal Norma Jean single "High Society!" Nile played lead guitar on all of these tracks, and Bernard of course played his beautiful bass guitar on all of them. Nile also is a wonderful producer. He's done some outstanding production work for artists such as The B-52's, Madonna, David Bowie, etc., etc. Johnny Marr loves Chic. Johnny has exquisite taste!

"He's the Greatest Dancer" by Sister Sledge

* The Doobie Brothers. One of the most underrated musical artists of all-time. Dozens of outstanding songs from two incredible songwriters (Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons), and one inconsistent, and yet at times brilliant one (Michael McDonald.)

* The Durutti Column. Vini Reilly, Wow! I had barely heard of them before posting on Moz-Solo. I found this incredible video on the "What Are You Listening to Now" thread. It was posted by Irregular Regular.

"Never Known" by The Durutti Column

* Dwight Yoakam

* Eric B. & Rakim (rap artists)

* Frank Sinatra

* The Jimi Hendrix Experience

"Little Wing" by The Jimi Hendrix Experience

In May of 2012 I traveled to Renton, Washington, to visit Jimi Hendrix's gravesite. I was able to spend twenty minutes alone at his gravesite, until a family of four showed up. They were a very nice family. It was a beautiful late afternoon in Renton. A very peaceful experience. Very peaceful.

Here are a few pictures from that May day....

557.jpg 553.jpg

-Those are actual lipstick marks (all of them.)

Here are two other gravesites that caught my attention in the cemetery....

559.jpg 560.jpg

Rest in Peace.

* Johnny Marr

"Easy Money" by Johnny Marr

-October can not come soon enough. I can't wait for this new album to surface.

* Kirsty MacColl

* Kristin Hersh

* Nirvana (Kurt, Krist, & Dave.)

* Red Hot Chili Peppers. Another incredibly underrated artist. I don't care about their great album sales, they're still very underrated.

* The Robert Cray Band

* Rush. A phenomenal band, in every sense of the word ( at least in respect to the 12, to 15, of their emerald-like songs.)

* Soundgarden

* The Spinners. They showcased two spectacular lead vocalists, Bobby Smith and Philippe' Wynne. And the music is as special as the vocals.

* Steely Dan

* Temples. Johnny Marr and Noel Gallagher both enthusiastically trumpet Temples as the best new band in the UK. For my money, they're the best new band in the world! I never heard of them until one of their songs was posted on the "What Are You Listening to Now" thread. The song was posted by Irregular Regular. Here is the song that he posted....

"Colours to Life" by Temples

* Throwing Muses. There are rare times when they are my favorite musical artist. Better than Morrissey, better than the Pumpkins, they're that damn good.

"Hazing" by Throwing Muses

- This is one of their dozen-plus masterpieces. Kristin Hersh is simply phenomenal.

* Weezer. I'm really excited about their new album! I've heard snippets from three of the songs on the new album, and they're all liquid dynamite. Weezer has put out more bad songs than good, but that scarcely matters. The 20 to 25 special songs that they've put out, are what matter. Even the bad songs have tremendous heart. Every last one of them has tremendous heart. (Well, maybe except for "Beverly Hills.")

That video is SO ridiculous and I love it.

I always considered myself a casual fan of the Pet Shop Boys until I saw them live. That's what put them over the top for me! I've now seen them twice and can't wait until they come around again.

My favorite PSB song (with a great Bruce Weber video):
