Ignorant crowd. Amazed the following hasn't been referenced yet:

Great article. Argues that all dogs can be dangerous. And it is wrong to single out the pit bull. But, just like all 'profiling' is based on generalizations, it is also helpful at times. By targeting just certain types, we may miss the real threat. It may be the sweet looking poodle who actually bit the small child. Or the old woman who runs the meth lab. But sometimes stereotypes are true. And generalizing is beneficial. And profiling works.

Did anyone see the Louis Theroux LA documentary on dogs? There was a bit half way through where this fella got hold of a dog that was having a snap at anything that moved and he'd calmed it down to the extent that the dog was perfectly behaved within a few minutes. Blokey said he doesn't believe in training dogs and that people just have to learn to exist with their dog. I buy into that theory. You just have to understand dogs and a lot of people don't.

The problem with certain dogs is that they're as powerful as a lot of big cats that people wouldn't consider keeping as pets so in the wrong hands they can be dangerous. It's the people that keep them that are the issue though, a lot of people shouldn't be allowed to have pets.

That's what you take from it? Talk about selective comprehension...

Pot, kettle, black.

The article bulldozes every moronic prejudice you've aired in this thread.

Clearly you are mistaken. Did you take note of who penned that piece? Malcolm Gladwell, Author of Outliers: The Story of Success. Are you going to claim he did not have any biases when writing this article? He most certainly did. He is looking for outliers--exceptions to the rules--things that defy statistics and stereotypes and common assumptions. It is a polemic--aimed to persuade. Looks like you bought his argument, hook, line, and sinker.

I don't understand the hate for pit bulls they're lovely and extremely friendly dogs. Although but recommended around children as they play pretty rough. Own one and see for oneself.

Of course not. But we can be grateful that you never bred. Hopefully whatever bad genes manifesting themselves as serious mental illness(es) you are carrying will die out with you.
