For those of you that weren't initially feeling this album... Is it growing on you?
I listened to the album when it streamed on NPR and the only song that jumped out and grabbed me was 'Istanbul'. But I went out and purchased the deluxe edition this morning, and I have to say the album is starting to grow on me. 'I'm Not a Man' and 'Staircase at the University' still aren't doing it for me, but I'm warming to the fact that the album is pretty good overall.
In terms of the bonus tracks, 'Julie in the Weeds' is very Smiths-like. Great tune.
It seems like, for me, a lot of Morrissey's work doesn't do it for me immediately. Shamefully, I scoffed at the Smiths in earlier days, only to later discover the Truth.
