I was there last night, good god that was some set.
So many personal favourites played. Sound wasn't at its best, you'd think after a couple of nights they'd have ironed that out. Bob was in great voice, and very talkative too, couldn't hear much of what he said but he seemed so happy.
Believe it or not, that is my first time seeing Bob, wont wait as long the next time.My favourite songs where Charlotte Sometimes and Pictures of You
Merry Christmas everyone!

Was thinking the same! Say what you want about The Cure but look at the length of that show.......wish other bands would follow their lead on that!

And yet...I always see tons of comments on Slicing Up Eyeballs and Brooklyn Vegan from people complaining about their shows being "too long" and the setlists being too obscure/unpredictable. You can't win! Go figure.

Can't wait for the proper Top / Head on the Door / Kiss Me trilogy shows - I think this was just a warm up for all The Top songs live. In any case, amazing set lists!

Aren't their setlists kind of dull? A lot of emphasis on the faster/rockier/poppier stuff and on the hits. The atmospheric stuff is largely missing. Never/very very rarely any One More Time, A Thousand Hours, Cold, Fear of Ghosts, Same Deep Water as You, Last Dance, Apart, Figurehead... A damn shame, I'd say.

saying they influenced early emo is a big stretch if not just outright wrong (for sure not brand new). smiths and morrissey is all up in it but not much cure really beyond the odd here and there reference

Emo desperately could've used The Cure's influence since 97% of it is total garbage.

The Cure is Beautiful, wish i could see the once again, any up and coming tour dates maybe.
pornography and kiss me kiss me kiss me are just mind blowing. A lot of respect for robert smith

they have such a love for performing, doing long sets :blushing:

Robert Smith is starting to look a bit like an obese Susan Sarandon...he really needs to drop the goth gimmick at this point.
