He does a better one behind closed doors...
Well Viva, I am assuming that I have become your enemy because of my friendship with Jehne.
That is a shame.
I was rather proud when you invited me to be your friend.
Do you now intend to rescind the offer?

It was a joke Peter. Don't read that much into it...

^That is the most pathetic thing I have ever seen in a web browser.

And I remember Robby's 18 "goodbye" threads.

Seriously? the most pathetic thing you have ever seen on line?
In all your years of trawling through animal porn sites have you not encountered anything as pathetic?
Well, maybe I should be proud.
It's quite an achievement.

Re:

There is another forum i post on, which does have similar issues with anonymous posters.
They're running vBulletin Version 4.2.0 and Morrissey-Solo is running on Version 4.2.2
What they have implemented is User hash and IP hash to figure who is who and who is posting on secondary accounts and so forth.
Of course, it does not give out information to regular members, but it does help members figure out if one poster is posting under another name.
Here is how it looks.

With this if you're suspicious of who is who, or want to search through the forums for the same IP hash, you can do so.
It'll make whoever is posting anonymous think twice.

Re:

Thanks, I'll look for a plugin with that feature or something similar and see if it's worth adding. I think it can be manipulated with proxies as I mentioned before and give a false sense of confidence when considering the source of posts.

I think it would help a lot. I don't think the majority of anonymous posters use proxies. They just don't bother registering. The ones that cause trouble may use proxies but my guess is that most don't. I'd love to see how that system would change the dynamics. If it made people more paranoid and increased abuse, you could always revert back to the old system.

"The ones that cause trouble." From you.

"I'd love to see how" your no longer making tweets like those quoted earlier would "change the dynamics."

You can't produce a list of anonymous posts that is equally long and equally offensive.

Anonymous posters are not creating comparably significant problems here, and that is incredibly obvious.

Keep spinning.

'The ones that cause trouble,' to you.

Wrong site buddy. This is not Twitter. And those are not tweets.

It's you're not your.

You can't produce a list of anonymous posts that is equally long and equally offensive.

Yes, I could. But I have better things to do. You apparently, do not. Sorry about that.

And you are delusional. And a troll, obviously. You got something to lose if the IPs are discernible? Fear your little game of hide and seek will be up? Boo hoo hoo.

Re:

I found the site that has this feature, http://www.gamersoul.com/. I haven't found a public version of the plugin so it may be custom made for the site.

I'm debating if this added info is worth the extra clutter on each post. From initial thoughts I don't think it is as most people don't care. Their forum needs it more for identifying market scams, which isn't a big issue here.

Yeah, I hate clutter. Ruins the aesthetics. But I think that a lot of people here DO care about this issue. Perhaps the ONLY ones that would NOT want it are the ones who toy with others. The rest want it or are indifferent. And I'm pretty certain that most casual, unregistered users fall into the 'indifferent' group.

I am indifferent. Actually, scrap that. I am opposed but I realise I am probably an anomaly.

Re:

Your new status here as copy editor is not going well. "From you," as in, coming from you. As in, it is ridiculous that this is coming from the woman who spends her life insulting people on this forum, as was proven earlier. Proof, as in quotations, not as in, "I secretly know who's making those anonymous posts I don't like, and will bloviate about it endlessly."

Anonymous posts are all approved by moderators. How many of your insults, quoted earlier, do you think would have received moderator approval if they'd been submitted anonymously? I'm thinking zero.

P.S. Gotten "your" vs "you're" straightened out yet?

Re:

You are opposed 'cause you like the show better when there are no nets. :lbf:

Exactly. :lbf:

But I also think that people are entitled to present whatever front they choose. If they want to have multiple accounts, personalities etc why not? It does irk me when posters are 'outed' by moderators. Everyone is entitled to their secrets.

Re:

I don't see the numbers, who else really wants this feature that is going to add these extra characters to every single post displayed in the forum? I think the negative aspects you might be referring to are the potential privacy issues even if it is encrypted.

If it was implemented a little cleaner and doesn't involved a lot of man hours in getting it to work, it would be more appealing but for now I would rather work on other priorities.

The mods don't 'read' the posts. They scan them for TOS violations. They could care less that tossers like you spend all their free time trying to refute what one woman, who rubs them the wrong way, posts on a message board. Get help, seriously.
