Wouldn't it be cool if Moz worked with Guns n' Roses. It would actually be the new line-up which might not be so great but he could be working with Axl Rose. Or he could go work with Slash --- That would be cool since Slash is such a kick ass guitarist. Be good with this new attitude of Moz were all hoping for. I mean, Slash has played with a lot of different people.

Much much greater though would be if Axl would just ask Slash to come back to GnR. What gets so many people pissed is that Slash said he's come back if Axl asked, but Axl has to be a dick. He should just do it for the fans at least.

I bet Moz likes Guns n' Roses, given the music he grew up with. GnR and Moz actually a ton of influences in common now that I think about it! Think about it!

Id be astonished if Morrissey liked Guns and Roses. And Slash is a hideous individual. And as for Axl Rose - well hes nothing but a racist homophobic moron.

You're just being a stuck up twat. And don't lay this racist homopho @#!!!. Get over it. He didn't mean it. You misunderstand the song.
Axl... Inspired big time by Queen and Elton John (and actually performed with).

Astonished if Morrissey liked GnR??? Again, I say think about some influences....New York Dolls, T. Rex, Ramones...

Jsut because they shared influences doent mean he would like them. Settle down.¿ You're just being a stuck up twat. And don't lay this racist¿ homopho @#!!! . Get over it. He didn't mean it. You¿ misunderstand the song. <

Oh he like d Elton and Queen - oh thats another reason to dislike them. Thanks for that

what the world needs now?

are you hoping for another (The) Boy Racer? Appetite for Destruction is good now for kitsche value at best though, don't you think? Axl Rose, especially after that depressing Spin article, seems diluted enough to actually believe people want him solo, and not the original line-up in their 80s hair band (I won't say glam, that's blasphemy) image. At best, they could ride this retro 80s new wave fascination to its inevitable end. I'm not saying it wouldn't be cool, mind you

Gee let's think about this. Think of the morrissey of the early eighties: Doesn't eat meat, is english, loves pink(is a stylish dresser), is appalled by sex and cigarettes, has an amazing voice and wit and writes incredible poetic lyrics, is inspired by James Dean and Elvis.
Now let's think about Guns N Roses in the early eighties: Are homeless, have sex with strippers all day. Drink a half a gallon of jack daniel's a night(Slash alone), Sell drugs and use half of the heroin they sell, hang out all night at porno stores on Sunset strip, are friends with buttmetal bands around LA, Get jobs at Berkely as medical test subjects who smoke cigarettes for research purposes for eight dollars an hour (axl and slash), have no fashion sense, are all high school drop outs and couldn't read a book with an eighth grade reading level if their lives depended on it, whose real biggest influences are Joe Perry and Steven Tyler( Common Knowledge if you've ever heard any interviews with slash).
Now it may seem that I am knocking G N'R, but I am not. I have lots of respect for them as musicians who did things their way, but it should be obvious that these two artists really have nothing in common. If you were to put the two in a room together, Duff Mckagan would probably throw up all over Morrissey's nice and shiny Italian leather shoes and that would be the end of that.

the smell of success

ah, Duff, precious Duff.. one time i was looking throught the used cd section, and there, behold, lay his beloved solo album. With a line-up of songs that span from "F*** YOU" to "I LOVE YOU", you can see he's truly the bass-slapper with a heart of gold

This is the only mention, I think, Morrissey has made about Axl Rose:

Q: Axl Rose once wrote a song...

Morrissey: Nobody's interested.

Q: ...called Get In The Ring, in which he invited his detractors to sort it out pugilistically. Does that appeal to you?

Morrissey: No, I've got better things to do... like planting bulbs.

No, this would have to be the most uncool thing ever - I thought only 14 year old adolescent boys listened to Guns n'Roses - you have to be at least 15 to listen to Morrissey.¿ Wouldn't it be cool if Moz worked with Guns n' Roses. I guess what I'm trying to say is: Moz likes to cover T. Rex and NY Dolls and so does GnR. So it would be cool for Slash to supply guitar for a glam cover. I guess. Slash supplied guitar for Michael Jackson (!) (before the kiddie molesting stuff) so...¿ I think anyone who says " immigrants and @#!!! s make no¿ sense to me" is pretty much laying it on the line.

The cover of the EP even says it's a joke of something...¿ Oh he like d Elton and Queen - oh thats another reason to¿ dislike them. Thanks for that

Yeah, I hate them too, but they turned out to be a nice influence on him.

but Moz is in LA now! yeah!

Why do some people at this board think that everyone here sips tea and reads books all day???

I started on Moz/Smiths at 15 and GnR at 18.

I know its going to happen someday.

So, you were an 18 year old adolescent? - there's nothing wrong with being a late developer, but when your balls drop, I think you'll understand why GnR's and Morrissey are absolute opposites.¿ Why do some people at this board think that everyone here sips¿ tea and reads books all day???¿ I started on Moz/Smiths at 15 and GnR at 18.

@#!!! off, I'm 21. When you pull your head out of your ass, you'll find there's more to life than stereotypes.

I think I can help you get through your exams

... but not much more.

started listenin to morrissey on my own at 11, loved gnR when i was 5-6, still think theyre good though, im only 15 now though

What does Morrissey think of Gn'R, you say?

> I bet Moz likes Guns n' Roses, given the music he grew up with.¿ GnR and Moz actually a ton of influences in common now that I¿ think about it! Think about it!

Don't mean to dredge this up again, but...

from Q Magazine, Sept '95:

Q: Axl Rose once wrote a song...

M: Nobody's interested.

hahaah! Ready for another one?...

from Details, Dec '92:

(when asked about different types of music)

D: Heavy metal?

M: Even soft metal I find repulsive, because it completely bypasses the cranium for the loins. The loincloths. I don't like anything that insults the intelligence.

One thing I'm looking forward to, with this recent Morrissey activity, is the INTERVIEWS!

Re: What does Morrissey think of Gn'R, you say?

¿ One thing I'm looking forward to, with this recent Morrissey¿ activity, is the INTERVIEWS!

You said it, sister! Me too! That is, if he even DOES any interviews this time around. He doesn't do too many interviews these days, as compared to the days of Smithdom.

Re: What does Morrissey think of Gn'R, you say?

I remember he once said something about heavy metal being written by morons, for morons or words to that effect. Morrissey has such good taste.

Go, Mozzy, go! (tasteful footwear)
