What are "Crashing Bores?"
What are "Crashing Bores?"
I was wondering that myself. Obviously, I know what a "bore" is. But, I have never used the word "crashing" used as an adjective. Anyone have any insight?

It's really quite common... well, round here it is. It just means awfully, terribly, really, very etc. Maybe 'crashing' is what your heart does when one of these bores corners you and tells you all about their abscess for the third time that week?
I think a dictionary describes 'crashing' as an 'intensifier' - as if being a bore isn't bad enough, a CRASHING bore is the worst type.
I could go on but.....I wouldn't want to bore you.
It's just an old-fashioned English word, like Tingle said it just means very, I guess now we would say 'a complete bore'. He does watch FAR too many old British films, lol.

This is pretty much what I assumed it meant. Thanks!
