Oddly enough , someone's been ravaging my reputation points as well , even going to the extent of reading months-old posts and "disapproving" them.

No story; Vidal died and everyone is mourning and I was reminded of the famous TV clip where Buckley and he were engaged in debate, and Vidal called Buckley a crypto-Nazi, and Buckley called him a queer and threatened to punch him in the face.

I don't know too much about Vidal other than that, and also that he claims to have slept with Jack Kerouac. I've seen some interviews with him and he's likeable and intelligent, but so is Buckley.

I like Buckley because he was extremely articulate and brave; he truly didn't care what anyone else thought of him; he gave his opposition a platform to speak their views and I never saw him not cut any opponent to ribbons, effortlessly.

I don't agree or disagree with his views, that's a separate issue...but, as a person, as a force to be reckoned with, he was intimidating and unstoppable and one of a kind.

the negative rep thing is/was a joke, both literally and figuratively. True story: I was posting on the Smashing Pumpkins' Netphoria forums for a long time, until recently, when the negative rep remarks people make to everyone else's each and every post just got rediculous. there are people on those forums who do nothing all day, every day except troll the forums, leaving shitty negative rep remarks on people's profiles like it was a full-time paying job. It's rather hilarious, actually

so I came over to these forums and just started randomly ambushing people with NOT SERIOUS negative rep remarks about silly things that really don't mean anything at all. Nowhere near as hateful or as bad at the Netphorian skidmarks who troll those forums, but just a few to certain members for shits and giggles. I figured you'd get the joke and reply with something equally comical and "left-field". Of course, you took it to heart, got butt sore, and told me to "go get fucked" or something along those lines. I'd post the PM for the entire forum to read, but I'm above that sort of thing
