"If I knew where good songs came from I'd go there more often." Leonard Cohen
"I’ve always held the song in high regard because songs have got me through so many sinks of dishes..." Leonard Cohen
From the article, I gather Elton's album wasn't new material, just remakes of old songs, updated for the dance floor. By that standard, Morrissey already got his #1 with "Stop Me".
I'm afraid that 'The Kid's A Looker' (which btw. is back in the vaults?) and 'People Are The Same Everywhere' will not have the potential at all to go to No. 1. 'Paris' had this potential, but frankly, do have charts any substance nowadays? Without physical releases of singles, anyone with a young, used-to-download-only fanbase can get 3-4 singles in the TOP 10 at once. Ridiculous.
Five Seconds To Spare?
