    The difference being Morrissey wants a #1 single...he's had multiple #1 albums.

    From the article, I gather Elton's album wasn't new material, just remakes of old songs, updated for the dance floor. By that standard, Morrissey already got his #1 with "Stop Me".

    Except that Stop Me didn't reach number 1.

    I'm afraid that 'The Kid's A Looker' (which btw. is back in the vaults?) and 'People Are The Same Everywhere' will not have the potential at all to go to No. 1. 'Paris' had this potential, but frankly, do have charts any substance nowadays? Without physical releases of singles, anyone with a young, used-to-download-only fanbase can get 3-4 singles in the TOP 10 at once. Ridiculous.

    Yes, that's true, I doublechecked and it was #2 on the singles charts and #1 on the downloads charts.
