This is on Saturday! Team Indietracks will DJing from 10:30pm so get there early. For £4 membership entry head to http://www.scaredtodance.co.uk/membership/

It won’t be all Indietracks music on Saturday, so if you like the older post-punk and new wave stuff we play that’ll still be there for you to hit the dancefloor to. I’m feeling particularly inspired after watching the beautifully shot Radio On (which we’ll be projecting) which has the most brilliant soundtrack – Berlin-era Bowie, Kraftwerk, Devo, Ian Dury.

Check out the trailer for Radio On at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_hiwawj-ts

What would you like to hear?

Smiths-wise, these are on my playlist: London, I Won’t Share You, A Rush And A Push And The Land Is Ours, The Boy With The Thorn In His Side, What She Said, Girlfriend In A Coma, You’ve Got Everything Now, The Headmaster Ritual, Frankly, Mr. Shankly, Vicar In A Tutu.

Scared To Dance welcomes the comedian Josie Long as our guest DJ! We saw Josie perform at the Edinburgh festival last year and thought she'd be the perfect DJ for the club after hearing her entrance music from Allo Darlin', Standard Fare, Kid Canaveral, Withered Hand, Slow Club and The Wave Pictures.

Along with her 6 Music show and her Utter Shambles podcast, with another of our previous guest DJs Robin Ince, we’re big fans for her stand up and we can’t wait for this night. She’ll be DJing early so come down from 9pm and don’t miss her set!

    We play...

Allo Darlin' . The Beach Boys . The Beatles . Belle & Sebastian . Best Coast . David Bowie . Camera Obscura . Cats on Fire . The Clash . The Concretes . The Cure . Depeche Mode . Dexys . The Drums . The Fall . Felt . Gang of Four . Hefner . The Jam . The Jesus & Mary Chain . Joy Division . The Kinks . Jens Lekman . Los Campesinos! . The Magnetic Fields . McCarthy . Orange Juice . They’re the closest thing we have to a sister night and we can’t wait to have them back at the club!

We play indiepop, new wave, sixties pop, post-punk, punk, synthpop, C86, lo-fi and DIY music. Please post your song requests on the Facebook event wall.

We’ve been told the night can go on until 2:30am but we might be able to go later. We want to make this night huge so please invite your friends!

Do you remember the first time?

We do too so we're having a Pulp Special at Scared To Dance! After reading Jarvis Cocker's Mother, Brother, Lover we thought we'd have a night especially dedicated to them. We'll be playing Pulp classics such as "Common People", "Babies" and "Disco 2000", as well as less familiar album tracks spanning from their debut LP It to We Love Life.

    ▼ GUEST DJS ▼

Fever Dream will be spinning discs at this one. Sarah and Cat from the band are massive Pulp fans who saw them back in the day at Reading festival. They're also one of our favourite noisy bands around at the moment who we put on last year. Perfect! We'll also be playing our usual selection of indiepop, new wave, sixties pop, post-punk, punk, synthpop, C86, lo-fi and DIY music plus the odd track from Jarvis' solo albums.

    ▼ VISUALS ▼

We'll be projecting the Pulp Hits DVD at the night so you can dance away to Jarvis & co.

Scared To Dance is back at The Lion (formerly King's Cross Social Club) playing new and old indiepop, new wave, sixties pop, post-punk, punk, synthpop, C86, lo-fi and DIY music. Our last four nights have sold out so let's do it again!

    ▼ GUEST DJS ▼

We're thrilled to welcome Helen King and Bob Brown from Brighton noisemakers Shrag as our guest DJs! They've released our favourite album of the year with Canines - a brilliant combination of angular post-punk sounds, funky B52's bass and King's signature yelp. We had the pleasure of putting on the band last year and they've DJed for us on two occasions playing excellent sets both times.

They've put together our October mix which they describe as "A selection of songs that make us smile, dance and cry, but never at the same time. You can hear Shrag in all of these tunes if you listen hard enough. And you really should listen hard." Check it out at http://www.mixcloud.com/ScaredToDanc...ce-podcast-13/
