His gripe isn't that Morrissey is gay or frequently writes gay lyrics. His gripe is that people are constantly trying to make unfounded claims (usually projecting a homosexual spin) of the meaning of lines within the lyrics. And I agree with him. People are unnecessarily dissecting lyrics that have no reason other to be taken at face value. I don't care where you come from, "nails" ≠ "penis", "semen", or any other part or bodily fluid present on/in a man's body. It is nonsense and it is annoying. If Morrissey put across a traditionally heterosexual image, no one would be thinking "nails" = "nipples" "breast milk", "vaginal secretions" or a "clitoris". It is a ridiculous double standard.

Ummmm, maybe? We had an eclipse in California yesterday. I grabbed that off the internetz just as an example of the sun eating the moon. There's some pretty awesome southland amateur pics floating around now from yesterday. Apparently Griffith Observatory went bonkers with crowds cheering it which is pretty cool in a rebel without a cause way.

It certainly isn't ME who is looking for Homosexual innuendo in almost every lyric the man writes..I meant it is SOME other fans (On here, and elsewhere...) that make him out to be a "Screaming homo" , by seeing hidden /Non-existant meanings in the lyrics, ...that was the context I tried to convey..

( I think" Who will swallow whom" summed it up for me perfectly well, and THAT was on the B-side of the Smiths FIRST single....).

When the Smiths first arrived, I was very pleasantly surprised that Morrissey was singing SOME songs from a potentially Homosexual point of view...It made a refreshingly HONEST change from claptrap like Wham hiding their sexuality ( one of them, anyway,) by posing for Teenage girl-fan mags, and filling in questionaires about their "Dream Girl" and such gubbins.

And furthermore, I apologise for coming across as a bit of a "Bigot", but I suppose I should feel rightfully chastised by being called one, by somebody who has a MUCH more offensive word pertaining to the Homosexual community accompanying her every post, than the ( admittedly rather) lame one I made....

I'm Sorry if my use of a well-worn comedy phrase seems to have come across as homophobic, that wasn't my original intention.
The point I was ( and STILL AM) trying to make is that some other people seem to think that Morrissey continually sings about Homosexuality, therefore making it seem like that is ALL he EVER sings about, when it is screamingly OBVIOUS that he does Not.
To try and put it more simply then....some people see things in some of his lyrics that are simply NOT THERE.
