I've read elsewhere that venues are strict on video phones in Japan, which good because your view isn't obscured by hundreds of glowing screens, but a shame because we might not get to see this... Hopefully someone captured it and will post it online.

For some reason I just envision a bloated, sweaty Elvis with his eyelids clenched half in passion and the other half in diabetes. It just sounds to me like he's trying to make this a cliched swansong for himself, and it's only ever gonna sound tacky if it's done with fake strings. If he wants to record a definitive showstopper - his personal "My Way" - then he's going to have to go all out.

But, maybe I have to listen to this a few more times to better digest it.
He does a good job singing it, and it is a surprisingly excellent recording.
