What album are you listening to right now?

gin blossoms - found out about you
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qB6XdAkkAo

not sure which perspective i identify with more. guess maybe i got what i deserved...anyway to bad this guy died before he saw the band really take off cause his songs and words were amazingly honest and vulnerable

the words:

"All last summer in case you don't recall
I was yours and you were mine forget it all
Is there a line that I could write, sad enough to make you cry?
And all the lines you wrote to me were lies

Months roll past, the love that you struck dead
Did you love me only in my head?
Well the things you said and did to me, seemed to come so easily
The love I thought I'd won you give for free

Whispers at the bus stop
I heard about nights out in the school yard
I found out about you
I found out about you

Rumors follow everywhere you go
When you left and I was last to know
Famous now and there's no doubt, all the places you hang out
They know your name and know what you're about

Whispers at the bus stop
I heard about nights out in the school yard
I found out about you
I found out about you

Street lights break on through the car window
And the time too often on A M radio
Well you know it's all I think about I write your name, drive past your house your boyfriend's over I watch your light go out

Whispers at the bus stop
I heard about nights out in the school yard
I found out about you
I found out about you

Whispers at the bus stop
I heard about nights out in the school yard
I found out about you
I found out about you
I found out about you"

I love this video....recently created by a talented fan. A big statement by Morrissey.
With Morrissey's song it starts subdued and builds to an incredible climax.

so ive been going back and getting into ryan adams since i loved the new album and as it turns out many of his albums (i dont know what my problems was before since i never sought out the music or heard a song). anyway ive been going back and own the s/t ashes and fire gold and today ill probably buy heartbreaker and love is hell. anyway i was listening to heartbreaker today and thought id post it as the first track has them talking about morrissey, not the smiths, and viva hate and bona drag which i thought was pretty funny. anyway enjoy

his new brit pop influenced solo album, even the bowie aping cover shot, is really good. this one was supposed to be inspired by suede and i can hear it in the lyrics as it sounds like something off of head music meets coming up. i know people will not give it or him a chance, the first two my chemical albums were great imo, but its so good with echos of the stone roses, morrissey, bowie all over the place. hes a good artist and i appreciate how he grew up and how he coped with living where he did. newark and belleville nj are not easy places to exist especially as a child. he wasnt really allowed out of the house much and so turned to illustration and writing which is very familiar. his grandmother taught him to sing at an early age and he just seems so genuine and imaginative at times. i hope he succeeds because hes talented and trying very hard to make something good and credible, a challenge many struggle to achieve. i think he succeeded here.

the words:

"She waits at windows
Her dreams don't show in color, and she sleeps
For now
But she just waits around
Wishing she could leave, single mothers
In parking lots and wear another girl's evening out
This place lets you down easy

She gets up to buy a drink
I notice why when she walks up
There's something calling her, and she says

That she can change for love
And she explains how long she's waited for
She wanted more

Dead leaves, desperate summers
All ages clubs and metal shutters
To keep you out
While we hang around in factories
Til we need each other
To discount lives in heavy numbers
To keep you down
If I wait around, maybe she

Might come back to say a line
Not sure you know my name, that's fine
But take me with you this time, and she says

That she can change for love
And she explains how long she's waited for
She wanted more

Go, tonight
I might just see you around
It hurts but I understand
You can find another reason not to stay
And while she's walking away, she says

That she can change for love
And she explains how long she's waited for
She wanted more

And as these days go by
They can't change how long we've waited for
I love this more"

I'll def get this when it comes out.

dude i was really surprised at how good it was. ive been listening casually to afi since cereal wars so its been a weird change a few time around now but i was taken by surprise at how good this was. i meet jade and davey way back in the day and both were pretty cool

I love AFI. I don’t think they really became AFI until Jade joined, or at least until “Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes” and the “A Fire Inside” 7”. Love those. The summer that “Black Sails” came out I listened to it non-stop.

i got the all hollows e.p first. and then sing the sorrow and went back and for sure listened to lots of afi. i remember listening to the major debut and thinking how is he singing like that as it was a dramatic difference in his voice. some of the early videos were fun as well like the one where they kill him and put in the trunk driving around town. i think it was like 2003 that i got to meet them at some warped tour and jade signed the shirt. good times

so talking about greenday made me want to listen to this old one again. basically an early sounding beatles song, think meet the beatles, and sounds like it could be based on the movie misery.

the words:

"I'm all busted up
Broken bones and nasty cuts
Accidents will happen
But this time I can't get up

She comes to check on me
Making sure I'm on my knees
After all she's the one
Who put me in this state

Is she ultra-violent?
Is she disturbed?
I better tell her that I love her
Before she does it all over again
Oh God! She's killing me

For now I'll lie around
Hell, that's all I can really do
She takes good care of me
Just keep saying my love is true

Is she ultra-violent?
Is she disturbed?
I better tell her that I love her
Before she does it all over again
Oh God! She's killing me

Looking out my window for
Someone that's passing by
No one knows I'm locked in here
All I do is cry

For now I'll lie around
Hell, that's all I can really do
She takes good care of me
Just keep saying my love is true"
