The Man City thread

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Looks like Urban will be right in that City will win the league cause I am sure United lost the title today.
The fat lady hasn't sang yet.
City just kicked off.

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Easy straight forward win for City.2-0
Never broke sweat.
At times very casual, but up against a side with no real fight left in them.
Sets it up nicely for next week.
I don't think it's desperate for Utd even if they get beat.
City going to Newcastle will be a touch game.
Utd played well today but poor defending let them down.
It's going to be a long week.
On a side note.
What the hell has gone wrong at Liverpool, another bad result at home.

Liverpool will probably end the season with a cup double and Chelsea might win the Champions League and City will win the league. Gonna be a long dark summer for United fans but at least Urban will be right.

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

And here we are Utd eight points clear and better goal difference.

Ahhhhh how sweet it was to read that ^^

And here we are, united 3 points clear and an inferior goal difference and shakey defence.
Every goal City bang in is ''doubled'' in the goal difference - as will the penalty given to the rags be ''doubled'' against us.

Iregular Regular....... where for art thou???????????
I CANNOT WAIT FOR AN ARGENTINIAN (one of the three) to bang in the winner against your beloved rags on Monday night.
And omens??? The last time City won the league in 1968 - City won it at St James Park, the rags came 2nd after they lost against Sunderland ;)

Oh yes oh yes oh yes

COME ON CITY

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Spare a thought or two for Bobby whose side Coventry today were demolished by Southampton that reached promotion to the premier league after that victory. Poor Bobby who hates Southampton must be gutted by now.

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Just a little reminder to the rags on here, about the last league game between the two top teams from Greater Manchester.
Note the accent from the rag....... very northern..... (not ;)

COME ON CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Well here we are.
For most football fans the game we want to see.
Title decider??
I'm not sure.
I thinks a City win is necessary for them.
For Utd a draw would be fine.
I wonder how the teams will set up.
I think Utd might approach the game like they do when they go to Arsenal and Liverpool.
On their day Man Utd can defend well if it's in their mind set.
But at home City have been unstoppable.
Yes a few "lucky results"Sunderland and Spurs.
But on the whole have won most games at home pretty easy.
Andre Marriner is the official, not a bad choice.
Lets hope the players on both sides keep their heads.
It's going to be a long day waiting.
For the City's fans and mostly JJ good luck.
I think the atmosphere will be fantastic.

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Not the classic I was wanting, but a deserved win for City overall.
Was always going to be a tight game.
Not a lot between the sides.
Roll on next Sunday and City at Newcastle, tough game but certainly winnable.
It's all in City's hands again.
Will there yet be a twist?

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Just saying but that Urban has been spot on with most of his predictions over the years regarding football. I think part of him wants failure for United cause of the clubs owners and who can blame him?

WHERE HAVE ALL THE RAGS BEEN THIS WEEK?

Silence is golden, but this is ridiculous!

Come on Irregular Regular, or are you only ''a sing when you're winning'' type...... ;)

It is funny you should mention it but for me the only true United fan to ever have been on here was from Sweden. Whatever happened he took it the right way and always looked forward and realised how blessed he was for having seen his club win so much.
Just look at how he started this thread just to say it is time for City to win it now and I really respect him for that.

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Well the day is here.
With it being bank holiday weekend,I'll be out on the lash most of the day.
Wife and I visit lots of pubs today and meet lots of friends.
So I'll see the games on my travels.
You can never be sure with Citys away form what will happen at Newcastle, I think a win will seal it.
I can't see QPR getting any sort of a result at City next week.
Utd have had their chance I feel, but you can never be sure.
If City lose then a win today and not get beat at Sunderland will win it.
I thinks because of the way Utd have slipped lately I want City to do it.
But you can never say for sure, not the way this season has gone.
Either team will be worthy Champions.
I have said for months 87 points is the total to win it this year.
I won't be wrong by much that's for sure.

Hello JJ,

How nice of you to pop up just when it seems your beloved club are about to end all those years of hurt!
Well, today is the day.
I am still right here by the way, whether we win, draw a lose...

Just remember Newcastle away is not an easy game, and neither is Sunderland away for us next week.

I shall be watching the citeh match at a pub in Salford before I make my way to OT.

May the best team win.

Come on United!!! :D

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Where do City and Utd fans come from? Light blue touch paper and retreat.... http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereve...s-where-city-and-united-fans-really-come-from

As a neutral, living in Manchester, I couldn't care who wins the league - part of me thinks it would be nice to see City win it for the first time in living memory, but then again they have only got where they are because of oil money from the middle east, so it can hardly be said that they deserve it ... but you could say this about any of the top teams - all foreign owned, mainly foreign players...

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the league, the only competition that matters to me is the League One Play offs - fingers crossed that Huddersfield can finally drag themselves out of league one...

That unscientific survey of the Evening News was hijacked by mischievous fans of both sides. The United side pretended to be Stockport Blues, and the City fans paraded themselves as Salford Reds.

I was just amazed that the Manchester Evening News was read in Surrey!!!

COME ON CITY.
