The Man City thread

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

There'll be a few more twists yet.
It's away to Swansea that could be the first.
I always back Utd to win at home along with City.
It's them tricky away ones that will decide it.
I'll be doing palm readings next week.
All are welcome:thumb::D

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Lets have a look at where we're at now.
The fortunes have swung towards the red half.
Four points ahead, goal difference down to 3.
I hope it's not all over this early but I see the signs at City not good.
I think the manager has made some big mistakes.
When I seen Balotelli staying on the pitch and a seasoned pro like Barry being subbed.
This after Balotelli had broken a club curfew.

"CRAZY MARIO BALOTELLI COULD WRECK MANCHESTER CITY SEASON"
"I’m concerned that *hot-headed Balotelli could cost City dearly in their title race with Sir Alex Ferguson and *Manchester United"
By Graeme Souness

Remember where you heard it first.
February 5th
.
I think if Balotelli get his act together,he could make the difference.
If he carries on the same way I think he'll cost City dearly.

Tevez being welcomed back and talked about by the manager as being put back in the team when fit.
Plus the ranting and raving on the touchline does not inspire me with confidence.
On the other hand Utd are rock solid as a team.
There are not in my view playing fantastic football but are very, very efficient in what they are doing.
A see a few twists yet,I hope so,I don't want it all over with nine to play.
It's what I fear if Chelsea get a result Wednesday.
Any bets against it.

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Well here we are two weeks later and it's all gone quiet over at the neighbours house.
The only sounds are of straws being clutched.
All along City have been thinking of April 30th as being the important fixture and have lost their focus.
Manchester United have just carried on doing what they do.
Digging out result after result.
It's been really interesting to watch City and how the heart has gone out of their game.
Not as interesting as watching a great club like Liverpool doing so poorly.
(poor old Kenny he looks completely at loss to understand it all)
It's not over yet of course, but wins for Utd in their remaining home games I think will be enough.
Even so I can't see United slipping up enough between now and the end.
History tells us anything can happen and Monday showed this.
Utd dominated the game but Blackburn still had chances to take the lead.
All games from now on will be hard, points will be dropped by both sides.
The big goal difference is now non existence(how did that happen)
It doesn't matter that everybody is now backing Utd because SAF will not allow Utd to get complacent.
Despite a fantastic goal last week from Balotelli he is appearing more and more to be a liability.
What odds on him losing it at Arsenal and being sent off.
I got 10-1 four weeks ago.
You can't get decent odds this week.
Tomorrow will be great to watch.
And maybe my run of good luck will continue with a nice win bet.

And here we are Utd eight points clear and better goal difference.
I thinks Balotelli's season is over.
The FA should act on his earlier challenge as well.
So all in all he should get at least 4 game maybe 5 game ban.
Then to cap it all strolling of the pitch with still two mins to go.
City were really poor today and I thought Arsenal played really well.
Shame I have to wait till Tuesday to go pick up my winnings.

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Once again it's proved greatness can't be bought.

Let's all do the poznan... :guitar:
Got back from Old Trafford in time to see the last 20 mins of Arsenal's demolition of citeh.
Arteta, we salute you. :thumb:

This is how it feels to be citeh, this is how it feels to be small... :guitar:

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

City back in the race and looking at the fixtures they have the advantage.

City back in the race and looking at the fixtures they have the advantage.
Not sure about that.
Thankfully a result that opens the race up a bit.
City's next two games are away from home.
Norwich are no push overs at Carrow road a lot of teams have found that.
Wolves should be a pushover, but teams playing for pride can be difficult.
The key to setting a great finish will be a City win then United slipping up at home against Villa.
I feel City must win Saturday then it's up to United to show they want to be Champions.
Home against Everton won't be easy at all.
The key to that game lies in the cup semi final results.
You never know how a team reacts to losing/winning a semi final.
As to the last three games.
The City v United game could yet still be important.
City Away to Newcastle is a tough game.
But I think United away at Sunderland is just as tough.
So what do I think?
Well based on Utd winning their three home games, then picking up at least two points maybe three/four from their last two away games .
United should win it.
I feel City need to take Full points from all their remaining games including United.
Anything less won't be enough.
If they do that, then they will be worthy champions.
I said months ago 87 points should be enough to win it this season,I've not changed my mind.

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

City demolish Norwich and are back in form again. United have totally lost their form and shape and will struggle against Villa and Everton.
City will win the title.

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

City were very impressive.
Norwich put up a good fight up to the last 20 mins then collapsed.
Two great performances in a week from City.
The Utd game today will be very interesting.

That's really laughable
Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Well no big surprise in the Utd game.
Utd never really had to break sweat.
Another soft penalty given?
When will defenders learn?
Don't put your legs out when a player goes past you.
Young went down easy, but what did you except him to do.
It's another conversation but I'm fed up with it.
All players are doing it,going down far to easy.
I don't think it would have made no difference Villa offered very little in attack.
They gave away a very poor 2nd.
From then on it was a formality.
What next?
Well Utd play first at home to Everton who will want to do well after going out of the cup.
City at Wolves I can't see anything but a win for City despite their poor away record.
Then on to the big one.
Well the big one for City.
If nothing changes going into the game(five point lead) One point will be enough for Utd.
I can't then see them losing both their last two games.
I'll feel a little sorry for City because some of their football has been great and they would be worthy Champions.
Even so,it's hard now to see anything but another title for Utd.
We can hope for a twist to take it to the last day.

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

Come on City!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thumbs

We City fans know Moyes is always up Fergie's arse but it's time the Toffee's refused to roll over and get stuffed and put up a decent fight for once.
City will run up a cricket score against Wolves, then stuff the rags the following week like we did at the swamp 1-6.
If the rags slip up against Everton or Swansea (we know they wont against Slumberland with Richardson, O' Shea, Brown, Bardsley and Campbell on the books) then City will pounce and win it on goals. The beautiful irony of the 1-6 being the goal difference that counts ;)

A little part of me wants City to win it.
Just for JJ's sake.

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

This weekend will defo swing it in City's favour. Everton will park the bus on front of goal against United and I can even see an away win. United never perform well in early kick offs due to Rooney and the lads having to force pasta down them for breakfast.
Meantime City will score 5 or 6 at Wolves and they will win the derby so if United draw Everton they will be 3 ahead of City when they play the derby. City winning means they will be on the same point and City will have a massive goal difference advantage. At this point it would not surprise me if City win the league on goal difference but something tells me they will win it on points.
United blew their title chances at Wigan where just a point could have made all the difference.

Re: The Manchester City FC champions 2012 thread!

What a fantastic game.0-1,1-1,2-1,3-1,3-2,4-2,4-3,4-4.
Utd had their chance but Everton refused to give it up and deserved the share of the points.
Utd Six ahead.
I fully expect City to win at Wolves.
So Utd three points ahead going to City next Monday night.
I just love this game.:D

Looks like Urban will be right in that City will win the league cause I am sure United lost the title today.
